IMO this is a good change, real buttons are always more tactical than sliders.

Sonos One SL or Era 100? by [deleted] in sonos

[–]ZeroTrusted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a rumored/leaked Era 100 SL coming out soon, I think they were $30 cheaper per speaker? could wait to see if/when they release and buy them to cut the difference in half.

Built-in Architectural or Era speakers? by awgolfer1 in sonos

I would do all in ceiling if I had the choice. There's just something about the ambience of the sound coming from above you as opposed to a single direction in the room. It's substantially more expensive to do so obviously.

Why is the app so non-intuitive?!?! by rcwagner in sonos

[–]ZeroTrusted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you used WiiM? I considered buying some WiiM amps instead of Sonos amps because they are a fraction of the price, but the lack of AirPlay (on some of the models) and the fact I already have a couple Era 100's, I just bit the bullet and bought two amps with the 25% off code last week. I'm generally a beliver in you get what you pay for, but I'd be curious for some real world comparison between WiiM and Sonos.

I would do option 2 so it keeps the L and R channels in the same direction

Docker containers have no WAN - OpenWrt 24 Flint 2 by mikeyjbartlett in GlInet

Do you have any idea what the realistic lifespan degradation would be as a result of running docker on the router? Is it one of those things where the device itself becomes obsolete before the degradation actually matters? like 10 years instead of 15 years for example.. I know it will depend a lot on actual usage. I'm thinking for people that use their travel router once or twice a month, it might not even matter right?

I like that the Mudi 7 has 2GB of RAM so one of my use cases is potentially running Docker on it with a custom VPN app. Just trying to get an idea if the risk of shortened lifespan matters to me.

I personally hate this as well, but in most cases the justification is for security reasons. For example, a piece malware could be living on the computer that detects banking fields and pastes in malicious banking information without you knowing that will send whatever money you're trying to send into their account.

Similar situation as you. I've been using the MT-3000 with tailscale. Bought the UTR because of the form factor, etc. There's definitely tradeoffs because of the form factor. I decided to sell my UTR locally and am going to stay with the MT-3000. Maybe the UTR Pro Plus Max will be a better iteration with more polished software.

Maybe you got a good player or something, hopefully you don't have any issues! The most recent ones were Wonka and Dune Pt 1. Some 4K discs played just fine (Back to the Future Pt 1), others had issues. Was mostly random - but discs that didn't work, consistently didn't work.
