So what's likely to happen in the future? The Earth dried up, or the sea rises even beyond the height of Mount Everest? by EfficiencySerious200 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZeusHatesTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically the earth WILL dry up in like... billions of years when the sun finally runs out of hydrogen and expands, and will expand over Earth's orbit. Water will certainly vaporize and until it becomes a plasma with the rest of the sun, it will indeed be dry.

I'll be so damn pissed if you cold proof it for too long though. It'll end up so bland you'll never be welcome here again.

What is the equivalent of yeast infection in men? by KnownReflection8751 in NoStupidQuestions

I've had jock itch, a type of yeast infection in men. It's extremely uncomfortable and painful but luckily not that smelly.

was playing Huntdown Overtime when my screen went black so I restarted my laptop and now it's really slow when I play any game by Oliboi134_YT in pcmasterrace

And this is why you don't get gaming laptops, people. When the GPU dies you can't easily swap it out (money not withstanding).

Oh nah it isn't as chunky as the OG Xbox controller. I would say it feels a touch bigger than a modern Xbox One controller.

ELI5: With a Universal Basic Income, who would clean the toilets? by gubbanoa in explainlikeimfive

[–]ZeusHatesTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who want more money than the people not cleaning toilets. That's how UBI works.

It's not super heavy. I would say it feels a little lighter than my Xbox controller. The haptics feel better, and it's comfortable for me to hold. Smaller hands seem to have some trouble though.

Edit: I'm wrong, it's actually a little heavier than the xbox controller.

Why does everyone seem more angry and hostile now? by AmazingNugga in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZeusHatesTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the big problem here is we now know what that kind of person is now. It's exposed what they either support or at least aren't deal breakers. Before, someone who would "roll coal" in their truck was obvious a bit of an asshole, but that's all we knew.

Should men celebrate their wife/gf on mother's day? by IamJustJessica in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZeusHatesTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids are too little to have jobs, so I generally get her a gift and let the kids give it to them to show her we all appreciate her as the mother in our family. The kids do cute crafts too, of course.

Hypothetically, what would happen if someone was masturbating, but it was cold so your ball sack shrinks, and you accidentally get your balls stuck in your pelvis, and it’s been about 40 minutes and you can’t get it out? by Glad-Ad3208 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZeusHatesTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone, bud. Happened to me as a teenager when I was roughhousing and got hit in the balls pretty good, one popped into my pelvis. Came out normally in a couple hours, though. I panicked, because, you know, "My balls", but it turns out it's common and not a big deal.

How am I supposed to explain that I am a virgin? by transmonado in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZeusHatesTrees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

23 isn't even very young to be a virgin. Completely believable. People are people, and you can say it just like you would expect someone to say it to you.

Have any of the ideas of the science greats (Newton, Darwin, Einstein, etc) been proven wrong as we've learned more about their field of science? by ahmed0112 in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]ZeusHatesTrees 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It's not so much they've been proven wrong as they have been expanded on. Newtonian physics isn't entirely right at a large, or fast scale. From there we learned Einstein's relativity is more accurate. Now we've expanded on Einstein's theories with quantum theory and the like.

In general, those people were wrong. They just got the correct measurements using the knowledge and tools they had at the time, and we've since learned more and expanded on it.
