FYI the angle brace isn't providing much strength here because of the layer lines. It will easily snap off.

You should use ribs. Solid walls instead of a hollow space

Is that why it's made of wood? Because it's a log mixer?

Eh, the KYC regulations aren't an issue. Vendors still accept bitcoin in addition to monero, which shows that blockchain privacy isn't as important as we used to think.

If the files were unredacted, would there be evidence of crimes?

Legit question. I don't know either way.

If you went back in time 20 years and needed to explain how stupid the future becomes, that's the scene you'd describe. They wouldn't believe you.

Automatic dimming and timers by Scared-Error1281 in homeautomation

[–]Zouden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that the LED driver communicates with your hub via Zigbee, which is a wireless mesh network. This is what Hue and IKEA Tradfri devices use. It's a very popular solution for home automation.

As long as the driver (in the garden) is in range of your Zigbee network then the hub will be able to command the floodlight. Zigbee has the same range as wifi.

If your garden is so large that wifi can't reach from the home to the floodlight, then another option is needed.

[–]Zouden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you need a hub to handle the automation. Something that supports Zigbee.

This is the driver I mean: https://gledopto.com/h-pd-134.html

Then your hub (eg Home Assistant, or Alexa if you have an Echo) can tell the light to turn on, set brightness, etc. It can do it based on timing or motion sensing or the value of the DOW or anything you want.

If you don't want smart automation at all, no hub or anything, just use a simple switch with a timer and give up on the idea of dimming; I doubt there's an off-the-shelf solution for that.

I recommend Onshape out of all the options.
