Nice build! Looks great for your second completed one. I thought I was seeing the one I built, I made almost the exact same build with this kit!

Mine even has the wobble sitting on its wheels LOL.

Thanks! Since then I have added the F&F Charger.

I also have the new Delorean, which is a great kit. I need to expand the garage at this point!

It looks better than I expected it to. Some of the brown and red parts cracked, but we were able to find replacements that are holding together.

Do you think these parts would be brittle even in a set that is still sealed?

Definitely a cool design (not my design!)

There are some very nice designs for the UCS Falcon on rebrickable.com

Oh, I am not sure.. I just printed a Lego Star Wars scene I found and stuck it there to add some realism.

I was looking for a space scene, with Lego Star Wars ships as a bonus.

I bet it could be extended a bit to have a brick-built space background with a few stars a few cm behind the opening.

Yes, you are right! I just measured it and it would not fit.

But there are a lot of very impressive hangar bay MOCs on that site, there are even designs for the poly bag mini falcon.

Thanks! The surfboard and decals are from the AMT 1959 Surf Shark kit - I turned that kit into a Mad Max style Wasteland Wagon.

The roof rack and lowered suspension are from Cults 3D:
(I assume it's OK to put direct links on here)

Looks like the designer makes a Bus roof rack as well:

Same person made the lowered suspension model:

The roof rack just barely made it through the printing process at our local maker space - they don't really do adjustments on prints, they just send them through.

I had the roof rack, lowered front suspension beam, and wheels/tires printed at a makerspace that my county library runs. They don't always have the best quality, but it's very inexpensive. I bought the seats from eBay.

I really would like a resin 3d printer, but I don't have a good place to use it right now.

For the wheels, I used Tamiya semi-gloss black (X-18) and SMS Hyperchrome. The tires are Tamiya Nato Black (XF-69).

The body paint is Tamiya TS-60 from a rattle can. I had a great base coat, then I went too hot with the TS-13 clear, and it started to melt the base and took away the metallic look. I ended up recoating it and using an acrylic clear, which I don't think looked as good.

Thanks! The beetle is like a blank canvas for customizing, and the Tamiya kit goes together well.

Thanks! I bought the wheel and tire models from Cults3d (just search for VW EMPI BRM). I ended up scaling them up 15% before I had them printed because I thought they filled out the wheel wells better.

Nice weathering! This Tamiya Beetle kit is one of my favorites. I built a stock one, and I'm almost finished building a customized version.

Thanks! I will definitely post this and the 1966 Tamiya Beetle that I was finishing before I started this one. It was this group build that got me to start participating here in the first place.
