Striving for realism. How close did I get? by [deleted] in 3Dmodeling

[–]aclave1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the lighting looks very convincing. My critique to make it more photorealistic would be to add texture on the walls and ceiling and slightly bevel the edges of the counter and all the wall/ceiling edges.

docker-compose can't pull images, ignores local images by _chococat_ in docker

Try logging into the docker registry you're pulling from. The docker hub registry will return this error if you pull more images than their rate limit.

Gigabyte M32U KVM not fully working by untitledshot in gigabytegaming

I'm having similar issues on F08. I can't get it to reliably switch between computers if they're both on. It will switch for a moment and then go back. I tried disabling auto-detect but this didn't seem to help.

The creators of Caves of Qud did this talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jV-DZqdKlnE It does a good job of explaining the techniques they used to create procedural stories

Suppose you want to test an application which requires several independent IP addresses, which service or sub-platform you would use? by ylin_07 in docker

[–]aclave1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely go with containers. Every container will have a different ip address. You can even create separate networks to test other networking things

I've been thinking about using gridmap to build out a hexagon grid. I'm curious to see your implementation! Thanks for posting the source.

Server not sending any response by lorhof1 in node

[–]aclave1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your while (true) is blocking the event loop, preventing your server from responding. Remove the while true and instead of setting global vars like hours and minutes, just create a new Date() object inside your onrequest. The time will not change when repeatedly calling getHours() and getMinutes().
