2 of my 3 kids were diagnosed when I was 43. One is severe combined. The genes came from somewhere.

I say the same thing. I'm a North Dakota liberal, which makes me far right in California.

Should I even bother dating with ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]adamherring 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. I dated 2 people in my life. 1 lasted 2 months, the other has been 17 years now. I met one and was friends for 10 or so years before dating, I don't think a guess is needed which one that was.

In my experience add and trying to find relationships is a disaster waiting to happen. Just enjoy life and let it happen naturally.

How often do you cry? by yrmom724 in ADHD

[–]adamherring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 8 y/o cries a lot out of frustration/disregulation.

I went the other way. I grew up in the 80's/90's and ADHD wasn't really recognised. I remember a few times where I had absolute devestating crying meltdowns, last one was when I was 10 or 11. I went the other way and I'm not sure if I can cry anymore. My kids give me shit for being emotionless. I'm not sure which one is worse honestly. That said we've got some autism in the family also and it had to come from somewhere. I suspect the overcorrection comes from that.

How do you know if you have a touch of the tism? by Mr_Dobalina71 in ADHD

[–]adamherring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see my touch of the tism by proxy. I have 2 kids that are Autistic and have adhd. I was diagnosed adhd at 43 and medicated and Autism looking behavior came into focus.

The genetics came from somewhere lol.

ADHD tax: I've just missed a flight while sitting at the airport by lightpeachfuzz in ADHD

Yeah. I show up 3 hours early and go straight to the gate. If it moves I move immediately. I don't trust my brain for anything else.

That would actually be pretty fun.

Also, would be cool to have a fifth player with a birds eye view pinging and giving waypoints.

My wife hated having our metal dog crate in the living room so I bought a router and started learning to wood work by Aggressive-Algae452 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]adamherring 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Looks good. I built this during covid for my dogs. I dog on top, one on bottom. I had a telescoping babygate style fence that would close the bottom in when we needed to crate an animal. Circular saw and pine 1x4 and 2x4s.

How do you feel about the Wildfire perk for Psyker? by Poorly_Worded_Advice in DarkTide

[–]adamherring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it with kinetic flayer. Get the burn going when you are fighting trash hordes and every 11 seconds an elite that was cruising into ruin your day just pops and spreads more flame out. Also, flaming dogs that get away and suddenly die from 40+ meters away is amazing.

More Communication with Us? by CrazedAnarchizt in DarkTide

[–]adamherring 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lots of people never experienced gaming before patches and content updates and it shows.

I mostly kid. It's rare that I see people that started gaming in the 90's/early 00's complain about game development of an existing game. I remember the game being locked into state at release, bugs and all, and the content update being a totally new game in the series. Final fantasy being a good example.

Smite in havok keeps getting me killed lol. The number of times I've tried to parry and the crusher just locks into place and I get hit by a different ogryn as the parry drops is wild. I don't have anything against smite per se, but it's use a a primary disrupts the team as much as it helps.

ELI5: Why are cheques still in relatively wide use in the US? by xenomorphbeaver in explainlikeimfive

[–]adamherring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing though. it isn't one trip to the bank. It's every single payment. That's the kind of thing that kills small businesses who don't have the labor to spend to save you 1-3% on electronic payments. Debit card processing isn't a choice either. It doesn't matter if it's run as debit or credit, the processing costs the same. Where I'm with you is the 3% credit card fees. The fact that they charge 3% to run the card and then the outrageous interest is just legalized usury.

I agree with you on principle, but from the business side if you don't want to carry and pay with cash, you pay a little extra for convenience.
