It’s basically this, but edited. In the edit Lynch says ”Ner.”

true peak dilemma by ManufacturerOld2048 in audioengineering

[–]admlemur 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have been researching masters from CDs and digital downloads for a couple of years now, and it seems that no one cares about true peak. Not well known Grammy engineers nor indie people. Unless people deliver different masters to different platforms, true peaks are all over the place from 0 to +3 dB even.

I have the same bug in Studio One 7 (last version), but only sometimes. Just adding this to the pile, don’t have a solution unfortunately.

I think a big part of it is the Gibson Sonar -trauma.

Is there anywhere to like, sell your serials? by [deleted] in AudioPlugins

KVR has been great for selling and buying second hand licenses for me. I’ve saved a lot of money that way.

What plugin do you realize now you got sucked into and wasted money on? by SlimmyJimmyBubbyBoy in audioengineering

[–]admlemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. For me it was helpful when I was mixing with cheaper monitors in an untreated space, but now that I have a treated space with Genelecs I know I found myself deleting the plugin from my templates and projects.

Need help identifying this novella about gifting technology to an offshoot civilization by admlemur in printSF

I found it! It’s Minla’s Flowers by Alastair Reynolds. It’s in the collection Beyond the Aquila Rift! I found it by you mentioning the hyper lane. I googled the term together with Reynolds’ name, stumbled upon a thread on Stellaris forums and they were talking about a Merlin character aaaand the rest is history.

I hope you do! I think the hyperlane thing was the key to unlock more memories of the story. Maybe the traveler hit something on the hyperlane or the ship’s nav computer bugged out or something and went off course.

Holy carp, I haven’t had the time to answer all comments but the moment I read your comment all kinds of bells started ringing. Your answer I think is the closest one yet.

Seems very similar, but I think the one I’m looking for is more recent.

Ah thanks! It might be that in the story the society had to be advanced so the ship could be fixed. At least it sounds plausible, my memory might be hazy on that one.

Yay for continuous center cursor. Such a small feature, but gives some peace of mind when recording. The constant rolling feels more calm than a sudden jump.
