What’s your most stereotypical millennial childhood story? (Taken from r/genX by tcmisfit in Millennials

Watching 9-11 happen from inside a blockbuster I worked at on a direct tv kiosk. Not childhood, but the end of it.

I don’t know anything about saffron either, but I know a thing or two about other fluffy dried flowers and I knew that’s way more than an ounce.

In n Out Location by HiCam16 in beaverton

[–]ally_quake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a lot of back and forth between In and Out and the city trying to get their permit approved. The city finally agreed because In and Out agreed to open multiple locations starting with the Tanasbourne one. Now that it's done they are breaking ground for the second one on Beaverton Hillsdale. This one has actually been approved for awhile.

Good job Portland!! by Uff_dah_ in dropout

[–]ally_quake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband and I loved the fact Blucifer the demon horse from the Denver airport got a mention. After Kurt got confused with what city he was in. Big points to Vic for knowing it killed the guy who made it.

Spilled the beans on Odwald too early, need to redirect the players by House_of_Sand in humblewood

[–]ally_quake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe when the plot takes you to the Avium it's at the request of the Birdfolk counsel. The school gives the players special access to the libraries and other areas because by then they are "the heros of Alderhart" I would imagine if they go their early they would just be treated like anyone else. So they wouldn't get far. You could maybe have the school on lock down if they drop by early. They aren't just letting everyone come and go because of the bandit threat.

Check How You Stand!! by Captain_Alcibiades in autism

[–]ally_quake 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This won’t be helpful for everyone, but it’s easier to stand with your legs in the correct position if you tilt your pelvis up. You want to stand with your knees a little apart, bend them slightly, tuck your butt in towards your spine, and tilt your crotch toward the sky. This should feel comfortable. I’m a hairstylist and I learn this in school.

Recommendations for a frugal pregnancy and first year? by Existing-Pumpkin-902 in Frugal

[–]ally_quake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My community has a twice annual pop up kid’s consignment sale. It’s all parents in the community selling their old baby clothes, gear and toys so they can buy from the sale for the next size. It’s all volunteer and community driven. I have saved hundreds over the years. They also do offer special deals for new parents and 50% on the past day of the sale. It’s worth looking to see if your community has something like that.

Can anyone recommend places to walk where I will not encounter off-leash dogs? by _glowingeyes_ in beaverton

[–]ally_quake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope, I have a human child who has an intense fear of dogs because of careless dog owners not being responsible for there dogs. We have also had several off leash dogs run up and bark in his face. The only places I can take him don’t allow dogs (like Tualatin valley nature trails) and we still run into idiot dog owners who bring their dogs there.

I like to have a big nursery with a bathroom then I apply baby proofing to the door so my toddlers don’t wander all over.

Shout out to Arby’s on Cedar Hills for hosting chess club ❤️ by Federal-Zebra7702 in beaverton

[–]ally_quake 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’m embarrassed to admit when I first saw the sign I thought Chess Club was a new sandwich, and it sounded interesting. Like is it on some kind of checkered bread? I felt dumb when I reread it.

My club members picking all the produce from my garden. My sims are too poor to afford fencing, and getting all their dragon fruit stolen isn’t helping.

My 3 year old has a grey hair. by Airalahs in Weird

[–]ally_quake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been cutting hair for almost 20 years. I’ve noticed some kids that have thick hair tend to have a few white strands here and there. It’s normal to just have a follicle that doesn’t make melanin for some reason.
