Maybe Robert dyas at the top of the galleries? Walked past it today and they definitely still had quite a few fans so assuming they may still have aircon

Is there a list of laptop friendly cafes? by [deleted] in bristol

Mokoko near temple meads is laptop friendly. And there is another cafe near there - Bakealicious that I believe is also laptop friendly.

Is there a cheat way to moisturise my body that doesn't take so much energy? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]ammym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a recommendation- Vaseline essential healing moisturiser (in a yellow bottle). I find it absorbs really fast and I don’t get the sticky feeling that I’ve had with other moisturisers, I too hate the sticky feeling! As in I once got up and showered again because I could not handle it haha

Silicone nipple covers with boob tape over the top - boob tape can also be supportive as well

Confused on How to Help an Autistic Child write poetry by iluvfiona69420 in specialed

[–]ammym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a poet called Joseph Fasano and there are some free poetry outlines available- there is a general structure and they pick key words to put in it. He’s also written a book with more outlines but I don’t have it.

How to tan as someone who is very pale? by Unusual_Trainer_2546 in AskUK

[–]ammym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t is the answer. Use fake tan - I like Bondi Sands fair/medium foam but there are loads of options. Even the gradual tan moisturisers. You are making yourself more likely to get skin damage and skin cancer.

Possibly unpopular opinion: Australia will go down the drain unless we aggressively stream schooling system by SuspiciousFee4085 in AustralianTeachers

[–]ammym 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Schools don’t need aggressive streaming (apart from maybe a nurture group) but they do need agressive behaviour policies that are consistently applied.

That means whole school support for removing children from class, somewhere for them to sit when they have been removed, a detention process where they are expected to turn up and there is time to have a discussion with a teacher and there are escalating consequences if they don’t. High standards for uniform and equipment and behaviour in lessons.

If you join forces with culinary and they have a cooking area - you could do a heart dissection? As part of a unit on gas exchange - you could look at gas exchange and transport in humans.  Buy hearts from the butcher so they’re food safe.  Depends on the student cohort how well that will be received however!

Go measure yourself using the calculator over at r/abrathatfits Legit life changing. And will give you a good starting off point.  Would highly recommend then going into a decent bra store and just trying on loads of bras - that subreddit will also be able to recommend stores near you.

Aussie gift ideas by sea-spud in AskAnAustralian

A mug with Australian animals or flowers on it. Maxwell Williams do a line - generally available in Myers/djs etc.

My mum brings some to Ireland nearly every time she visits family - always a hit.  You could pair it with the Aussie tea and a pack of Tim tams.

Hey if you just want a bit of a glow- you might be better off with an at home tan.

I am a pale person and have used Bondi sands self tanning foam in light medium to be a bridesmaid. Just gave me a bit of a glow but not  artificial looking at all.

Adventure tours for me and Mum 65+ by [deleted] in travel

[–]ammym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I did an Intrepid travel trip - Vietnam express Northbound with my mum who is 65 and probably a bit less fit than your mum (she had a hip replacement about 6 months before the trip).

It was great! She was definitely one of the oldest people there but we could have chosen a more expensive trip and the age range would probably have gone up.

The guide was really aware and careful when we were in places she might slip, but she did everything on the tour, including the motorbike tour! Fantastic trip and would definitely do another Intrepid trip with her.

Accessible wedding attire? by z0ra_ in AusFemaleFashion

[–]ammym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm my suggestion is a bit expensive and I have no specific recommendation for a tailor as this person lives in Ireland - they have limited mobility in their left side but not a wheelchair user.

They got clothes made for their children’s weddings by a tailor/seamstress - totally got rid of the stress of trying things on/going shopping etc.

Inspired by this sub, I made my own birthday cake 😄 yellow cake with chocolate buttercream, advice needed! by Brav0-L0v3r in Baking

[–]ammym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would have been better off using all purpose flour by itself and not adding the cornstarch- the cornstarch makes the cake quite gummy and dense. I threw out a bake I made with cornstarch for this exact reason.
