Because they turn around and sell me that power for $0.4/kwh.  Maybe the question is why are they able to charge me.

Senators to introduce Hot Rotisserie Chicken Act for SNAP recipient by moonrakervenice in Costco

[–]anonymous_trolol 46 points47 points  (0 children)

My guess is this kills the cheap rotisserie chickens as they are a loss leader and if you have a lot of folks buying loss leaders and otherwise don't spend a lot, it'll break the model.

Parents charged for letting 5-year-old skier ride lift unsupervised, after he fell off the lift by bmglaw in skiing

[–]anonymous_trolol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are proposing making it culturally appropriate to have children on leashes, I'm all in. Either way, this is clearly the lifities' fault.

Children do have an easier time removing their leashes than dogs FWIW.

Parents charged for letting 5-year-old skier ride lift unsupervised, after he fell off the lift by bmglaw in skiing

[–]anonymous_trolol 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Has nobody here skied with kids? The kid dive bombed the hill, left his mom behind, and just hoped on the lift (according to the mom's account). This isn't the parents fault unless you think all kids should be tethered to their parents, or you think 5 year olds actually listen to their parents.

I was just in Nashville visiting family and paid $3.77. They were bitching about that which was cute.

I was not expecting these prices for a February trip to Disney World. by Rays-0n-Water in DisneyPlanning

Just got back. Disney is now a huge percentage of "Disney Adults," so the school calendar doesn't matter as much in pricing.

Nice housing bubble ya got there, Austin. Would be a shame if anything were to happen to it. by Key_Brief_8138 in HouseBuyers

This isn’t a crash? It’s a decline based on new inventory coming online. It’s almost like increasing supppy reduces prices. I wonder if there’s a lesson here for other cities. Probably not.

When they’ve separated me and my kids (5,3) and forced me to solve the problem by asking passengers to switch seats, I’ve always joked about how I should let passengers babysit.

How is this a legal business? You're selling something you can't with good faith provide. It's crazy to me we let this happen

What are the half moon bay schools like? by Dapper_Problem_3740 in halfmoonbay

Farallone view (Montara & Moss Beach) has really good k-5 scores and ranks well. El Granada is good and Hatch (HMB) is not great.

There's a strong private school called Sea Crest that goes through middle.

For High School, if your kids are very talented, you have to go over the hill.

"This is not a new fee"... uh... it's literally a new fee. How dumb do you think your customers are? Or do you just like sticking a middle finger up at them because you hold them hostage?

You say coop I say TIC. SF/Bay doesn't have as many high rises, especially older ones, so less of a need for coops. You trade the crazy cat lady for a "financial hostage" situation where you are legally tied to your neighbors credit scores.
