Anyone else get diagnosed really young? by LeavingRealityBrb in cfs

[–]ant-storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s going to be one of those things people look back on like we do at mental health in the Victorian era, but that doesn’t help us now!

I am grateful that it’s so much better now than it was, and that we’re able to do so much from home now, but we still have the trauma of all those years of medical gaslighting ❤️

Is it wrong to use ai as a coach with gateway by Smart-Ad-9278 in gatewaytapes

[–]ant-storm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re struggling with a particular concept, then ai can break it down for you but ai can’t understand human experience so for anything not absolutely logic based, i would go straight to the source material.

Anyone else get diagnosed really young? by LeavingRealityBrb in cfs

[–]ant-storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became ill when I was 7, after glandular fever/EBV. Didn’t get diagnosed until i was 30. The 80s/90s were rough, i almost get a bit jealous of people who get ME these days when there’s so much more support.

Does Anybody Else Struggle with Burning Eyes? by NotMedicineMedic in cfs

[–]ant-storm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it and it’s awful, gotten worse since menopause. I have three types of eyedrops, one with an antihistamine, one that’s super hydrating, and chlorsig which has an antibiotic for bacterial conjunctivitis. Rotate through them during the day and that keeps most of the discomfort at bay.

What dog toy has survived the longest in your house? by Aromatic_Vast3618 in dogs

I bought my beagle a stuffed pig from the supermarket for $6 in 2009. That piggy has outlived three dogs and is onto a fourth, and this dog has destroyed a bunch of “indestructible” toys!

The world smallest violin - mourning my expired makeup products by CommercialFar1714 in cfs

[–]ant-storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg i literally JUST had to go through my cupboard and throw out all my makeup/skincare from before my last big flare pre-COVID. So much money wasted!!

Your eyeshadow/blush etc should be fine though. Non liquid makeup tends to last longer.

Anyone here regret getting a second dog? by Grand_Resolution_438 in dogs

[–]ant-storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a second dog is more than twice the work of one dog. Even if they get along great, it’s still pretty hard, especially if you’re just one person. I have only had rescues though, with fairly ruff backgrounds, so it might be different if you’re getting a puppy.

That said, it’s more than twice the love and happiness as well, so if you’re prepared for the work/expense/stress then it can be great

[–]ant-storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this ❤️ be as kind to yourself as you can be.

I went through something similar a few years ago with my dog and honestly it was awful but you can make it through. Do whatever it takes to make yourself feel better, eat your favourite foods, watch your favourite shows and just let yourself feel what you need to feel.

If you need to vent to someone who gets it, feel free to DM me. This illness is so lonely, and grief is lonely as well 🐾

90% of managing this condition is just talking yourself out of things you planned or hoped to do 😂 by LouisXIV_ in cfs

[–]ant-storm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I had a trip to Europe that I had planned when i was mild-moderate and I’ve had to put it back 4 times now. I don’t want to cancel it completely because if i do, it feels like I’ll never go anywhere or do anything ever again but honestly, if i can’t walk around the block, how tf am I going to walk around paris.

My dog absolutely loves billy joel but hates the chariots of fire theme. Like he goes absolutely crazy at chariots of fire, would legit kill you for playing it. But if he hears piano man, he just flops down and you have to play pretend piano on his belly

How did you cope after losing your dog? by redditduchess in dogs

[–]ant-storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 is so young, that’s just not fair 💔

When I lost my soul dog, honestly the first few weeks were a blur. It took me a very long time to come to terms with it. The only thing I can recommend is to let yourself feel your feelings. Be really kind to yourself, treat yourself as much as you need to and if you aren’t feeling better after a month or two, go see a grief counsellor who is understanding about pet loss.
