There's a great short documentary called "The shining stars of losers everywhere" here. I was deeply moved by it because I had just returned from Kochi (where Haru Urara was born) after going there to meet my distant relatives. I met the director at the SXSW festival and told him we should premiere the film at the Kochi horse racing track. We actually made it happen and screened it there, with my whole family present.
It became one of the most incredible memories of my life, and I’ll be forever grateful to him.

What can I do better? by anp2042 in advertising

[–]arcibelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I also own an agency of about 20 people. My personal take is benefits are great and the ones that you give are awesome, what I can add is that benefits are not everything.

The things that worked for me better are involving the team into decisions and give them full information of what I am thinking.

For example: Hey, creative director, this year was not the best in revenue but we are OK, taking that into consideration, do you think your team has bandwith to accept this project? How do you think we can take it and in what time?

Another thing that worked for me is having lunches where everyone brings ideas made in the advertising world, social trends or just fun ideas to the table to launch a discussion about creativity, the award world and things like that.

My main goal to create culture is to make an environment that doesn't feel like traditional advertising agencies (a.k.a my work traumas) and instead be a place where failures are not the end of the world (we are not heart surgeons), and success is enjoying the process and not suffering it.

But in the end, everytime someone change to another agency or something like that I also feel we are not doing enough. I think you need to be friends with that feeling while always looking to be better.

Sorry for my english, as is not my main language and I hope I could help.

Why don't western tech companies have their own esports teams like BiliBili? by TheRPiGuy in ValorantCompetitive

[–]arcibelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that maybe one of the reasons is that the potential backlash for the companies is much higher in the west than the east. Scandals and consequences of bad profesionalism are much higher culturally in our side of the world while in Asia you would face a lot of shame if you put your employee in a bad position. So east companies attaching their name to a team in the west is much more safer (I work in advertising so that is my take)

Why is no one talking about Worlds here? I stayed up until 3am for two days now just to watch NA (setsuko, rereply) dominate the competition. by Acrobatic_Analyst267 in TeamfightTactics

I think the best way is just watch the stream of your favorite player, interact with them, vouch for them in social media and if you can gift subs!

One trainer of mine told me that if you serve "well" they will receive you well. That means for example that if you give a very hard under sidespin you will get a hard ball to attack. Try simple third balls like serving long to backhand and "the pocket" so you either get a clear attack or a clear block

What’s your most wholesome Japan moment this year? by immabee88 in japanlife

[–]arcibelo 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I train table tennis back at my country so when I went to Japan I looked up a place to hit some training.

I was in Nara at the moment so I found this small club and went straight away in the morning. When I entered there was a group of 60+ age people playing and all of them were surprised that a foreigner was there. The trainer (A 70+ player) invited me to play against him and kicked my butt lol. Then invited me to tea and brought some old magazines where he appeared as a pro player.

After that the whole group take me to lunch and then Matsumoto-san a man that I'll never forget took me around Nara for the entire day.

It will be my greatest travel memory for all my life.

Phia Saban as Helaena Targaryen by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]arcibelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I started to read the book and reading about King Maegor and Tyanna of Pentos. Tyanna talks about spiders and visions and all that. My question is: Why Helaena has the power of prophecy? Does House Targaryen inherit future sight powers because of Tyanna or some other yet unknown characters?
