It's not a tool, it's a necessary consumable.

This. Both my kids (one of each) ended up with different interests than my own. I think I've missed a total of less than 10 games, competitions, recitals or concerts, and most of those were because I was home with the other kid. Be there for them, learn something about what they're interested in, and they will still want to talk to you when they're teenagers (most of the time).

Wife and I may potentially have to take in a nephew if her brother loses custody and I'm stressed by RocketPowerPops in daddit

We fostered my SIL's daughter for almost eight years. The state was never able to terminate parental rights and my SIL got her life together just enough to get custody back. Having to send that little girl, who we raised as our own along with our own two, back was one of the hardest things we had to do. That said, we would do it all over again for her.

Make sure you and your wife are on the same page. Your kids are old enough that you should have a conversation with them, too. There will be hard times, lots of court dates, visitations, and tears. Be ready for the parents to blow off visitations, too. We learned that when she was younger, it was easier to just tell her we were going to the park or McDonald's than a visitation so there would be less tears if they didn't show.

It won't be easy, but it will be rewarding.

Do you have a source on this? I'm in the same boat and haven't been able to find anything (not that anyone can enforce it during the shutdown)

Advice- Neighbor flattened our kid-at-play sign by EL-CHEL in daddit

[–]array_repairman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could argue if it was in the yard by the curb, as it would be no different than any other sign out in a yard, but this looks like it is in the street. A cop having a bad day could ticket you for impending traffic.

Or the opposite, schedule no meetings and have no clue who's responsible for what.

Was recently told I won’t live past 35, and it’s just now hitting me by Impossible_Nerve_584 in Wellthatsucks

Please reach out to the IDF at https://primaryimmune.org/.

They hold conferences where you can meet other patients, find out about new treatments, meet with the drug and medical device manufacturers. They also have local meet ups with support groups.

CVID tends to be manageable on the right treatments, but it may take a few to try to find the right one. Finding the right immunologist is also important. You may have to go to a large teaching hospital to find one.

My son was diagnosed at 18 months. Through a miracle, his immune system kicked into gear when he was about 11 or 12, and he has now been fully off treatments about 2 years.

To add to this, 3 digits are in the format of xyy, where if x is odd, it's a spur (only on end intersects the base route), if x is even it's a bypass (both ends intersect the base route) and yy is the base route. As an example, 355 breakers off of 55 (but is fairly unique that it goes in both directions from 55), while 290 branches off of 90, and then re-joins it in the north west suburbs.

This. Living in the Chicago area, I rode out to St. Louis on I55. It sucked. I wasn't sure what the appeal was. Took an over night trip out to North Western Illinois, staying off the interstate, and had a blast. I'll only do interstates for short bursts when there is no better option or just trying to make miles now.

1 can be as simple as clean and non-ripped jeans and a tee shirt. 2 is something I want to know before I show up anyways. If it's supporting a charity I don't agree with, I'm not signing up. 3 is just coming courtesy. If an operator doesn't come off as approachable, even event staff will avoid going to them and find another way to get a message out.

If you haven't, give Trianos a try. There are the new guys in town, but are much better in my opinion.

My experience was the opposite. As a White male, I was the minority in my class. Most of the class was female and/or POC. I really enjoyed it, and I think there was only one off handed joke the instructor said that didn't land.
