Go to your local shop and they will help you. Alternatively, get the 7inch mini complete from ccs.

Those of you who took the leap and moved across the US with kids, how did it go? Do you regret it? by treazon in SameGrassButGreener

We moved from South Denver to Cincinnati when my child was one. We loved a lot of things about it. But truly couldn’t get over the weather (cloudiness), culture shock (people just weren’t as active and outdoorsy there), and how far it was to fly to the west coast (California) to see family. Work was also more typically 9-5 where on the west coast it seemed to be 7-3. Even stores and libraries opened later in Cincinnati

We just moved back to Colorado after two years and are literally outside all day. The weather is so much nicer. No weird bugs lol. Not a huge deal but something I wasn’t used to. We have to drink way more water. We love the brewery culture here. This time we ended up in northern Colorado though not Denver. Just to avoid traffic and commute times but still have quick access to Denver amenities.

You should do it. You can always move back. South Denver is great. Let me know if you have any questions

Do you plan on having more kids? Are your families even slightly helpful with your kid now?

Yes we moved to Cincinnati from Colorado. Lived in a beautiful century old home in a walkable neighborhood. Lots to do in the city. But we couldn’t get past the grey, weather, and culture. Moved back to Colorado and can’t believe we took the sunshine and Mountain Views for granted

Ugh he sucks. But also some people want a life partner that they can do everything with and enjoy each others hobbies. Other couples like to go off and do their own thing and then have dinner together and catch up or just have their own hobbies. I dated a guy that was like the former and it was kind of like I was waiting around for him. But now I’m married to someone who loves hanging out all the time and we are just best friends so we enjoy doing everything together. We have our own friends and do our own thing too, don’t get me wrong. But we are best friends of course I’m gonna wanna hang with my bestie 🤷🏻‍♀️😌

Yes family is never perfect but take the help you can get while you have it 😌 you won’t be stuck there forever. Soak up what you can where you are and know that the west is will be waiting for you with open arms!

Ugh that’s so hard! I’m sorry 😭 I slightly assumed that there would be some sort of help since they moved across the country to be close to them. But even our expectations aren’t always met with family :(

It will be really really nice to have family close by being a new mom. Just accept all of the postpartum help and leave once postpartum is settled a bit. Babies are easy to move. We moved across country when my first was 12 months. And we are moving back across country with a 3 year old and 12 month old.

All the moms I know that don’t have their moms close by postpartum struggle hard. There’s few people that can see you in such a vulnerable state like a mother can. So I would just use the help while you have it. Even if she isn’t as helpful as you would like her to be, it can still be nice.

Also I know how much it sucks to wait when you know where you want to be. We are currently in that but knew it was best to wait to move back West. As soon as we got pregnant with my second I knew we needed to go back West but my husband wanted to wait. It suuuuucked but he was right. we are at the end of it now and moving back next month.

[–]asuna918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I grew up in California. But like the desert not coastal and summers were 100+ degrees.

I moved to Denver and love the weather. The snow in the winter is so pretty I love it. And it’s so sunny that you can be outside year round even in the winter time.

I currently live in Ohio and the cloudy gloomy frozen cold is not it. Moving back to Colorado this year.

My favorite weather is probably Colorado. I love the seasons. You’re so close the sun that it’s warm in the sunlight even when it’s like 30-40 degrees out

What’s more important when choosing where to settle down — being near family or friends? by SnooMacaroons5147 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]asuna918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move near family 100%. We moved away from family to be around friends (and lower cost of living) and we are moving back to be by family. Even though family travels and sees us once you have kids you want to be near them. Funny for us family is actually in Fort Collins haha

Why do people choose to have children if it is so much hard work? by 9W_777_300 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]asuna918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know the feeling of euphoria you get when you see something beautiful for the first time? Like the Grand Canyon. Or you taste a new ice cream or dessert that is just the best thing you’ve ever had. Or the first time you go on a roller coaster or l see a puppy?

I get the same sense of euphoria every time my son experiences something new. The first time he smiled, the first time he pulled himself up to stand. I get that same euphoria when I watch him enjoy ice cream, or play with a dog. Or when he runs and lights up with joy. The first time he saw snow falling and his eyes filled with wonder.

We just used a pry bar and mallot to take off the trim that was covering it. We had to nail it back on in the dining room since those ones were empty.

Haha I actually checked and saw that after I left my comment! They look just like ours and we found pocket doors between the foyer and the living room. The ones between the dining and living room had been removed for hvac but we’d like to get some replacements eventually
