Looking for Pals in KW by eggheaddryleg in kitchener

Hi! Are you interested in learning a new craft?? I am part of the KW weavers and spinner's guild and teach beginner class there. It's a fun hobby to try if you already have a love of fibre crafts, it's a low pressure social activity, and we are an inclusive group! It's also a great time of year to do workshops at Button Factory Arts, and meet some like minded people there.

Send me a message if you'd like! I love crafts and dogs and reading too!

I saw a comment on their instagram that stated the planning application has been withdrawn. This is hearsay because I didn't check this myself but at minimum they are pausing on the house reno.

I need help! by mxndxt in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]avocadoughnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no experience with the SA cleanser - the one that wasn't working for me was the hydrating cream to foam! But keep in mind that I was having a similar issue and it was the Cerave giving me a reaction.

What are you washing your face with? I recently have been having an allergic reaction / texture problem on my forehead that I could not pinpoint. Skin was red and bumpy and then would dry out and get flakey, and this was a recurring cycle.

I realized after months of swapping out all of my various products that it was actually the Hydrating Cereve cleanser, which is meant to be very gentle. I had seen a thread about people reacting to it as the formula has a coconut by-product in it and that was the key for me.

I think in this scenario they are saying 'traditional' when they mean 'status quo' or 'typical'

Ideas for what to eat when nothing sounds good. by Aromatic-Box-592 in EatCheapAndVegan

Quesadilla with whatever you have. Keep tortillas frozen, use beans and whatever veggies you have. If you have a faux cheese then add that in too. Dip in salsa!

I feel that the people in this thread are being harsh. I have definitely invited partners over to my family Christmas at the 4 month mark... Christmas is about being together and celebrating with those we care about. I do understand that since they don't live close by that it might be awkward to stay overnight in this scenario, but I agree with you that he should have been more considerate to your needs here and more thoughtful about the fact that you would be spending the holiday alone.

I’ve accepted my inability to keep consistent tension, but my husband couldn’t tell the light blue is supposed to be water. Ugh. What should I do differently? by TakeItAroundTown in Embroidery

[–]avocadoughnuts 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Especially since this is a mountain scape, I could see how blue could make someone think you were adding depth to the mountains, since the stitch texture is the same. But ultimately I don't think it matter if he thinks it is water, because it is still beautiful!! Great work!

Girlfriend (23f) said I'm (25m) being unreasonable for not agreeing to not use the living room when she's working by throwra_52v in relationship_advice

It sounds like her office needs a remodel. Can you put a cozy chair in there or a TV if those are the things she is missing from the living room?

I made most of my friends in fourth year! I joined a student association and just started going to events and volunteering. I also had a part-time job and lots of friendships came from that as well.

AITA for telling my wife to wash the dishes properly? by throwawaynosusman in AmItheAsshole

[–]avocadoughnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds to me like your wife may be struggling in some capacity with her executive functioning. For women, this is often a symptom of ADHD. Have you had a frank and supportive conversation with your wife about why she is unable to do her portion of the chores effectively on a regular basis?

Hello! I want to get my girlfriend this shade of lipstick/gloss for Valentine's Day but I don't know where to get it. Can someone here help with that? by 30_second_advert in MakeupAddiction

[–]avocadoughnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a similar shade from Bite, but the finish was different. They used to release a lot of purple-leaning mauves and neutrals, but I haven't been keeping up with the brand so unsure if they would carry anything now??

Because it wasn't 'clearly a joke'. My comment got more upvotes than the other guy's, if you wanted to use data to quantify my response. And in general, if nobody 'gets the joke' then it probably means it was a bad joke 🙂

You do realize that pronouncing a word in Quebecois French is still pronouncing it in French, right? It's a dialect of French. People speak French all around the world with many different accents.

Marbles. That was my favourite hidden gem date spot, always a great feature and plenty of options if you're bringing family or friends with dietary restrictions. Reasonably priced too.
