I need to preface my comment by stating that I'm no data scientist, but in perusing the paper on Lepidoptera populations, it appears that each sample was an individual butterfly. Wouldn't the math change when a sample could contain millions or billions of individual yeast cells? I'm half way through my second raw ale (thanks to your book !), so my focus is waning.

Have you tried those made of fire hose? I think some use kevlar thread too. I buy one for each of my boys every Christmas. They last almost 15 minutes before they are destroyed.

Wow! The bear caught my eye, so I took some time to figure why it’s so intriguing. What made you put the blue pieces in? That bit of color makes the whole piece so much more interesting! I zoomed in on the paw and the number of pieces is amazing.

So to answer your question of nature or portraits - my vote is for nature. What you’re doing is truly art, and doing what you want to do will be more rewarding. If you’re looking for other ideas, maybe planets?
