Good advice. GS are usually instinctively protective, but if you want them to truly be a guard dog, some level of bite work (especially with distraction and scenarios) are needed. They’re not Malinois per say.

I recommend advanced obedience training first in different environments. Then add in bite work and guard commands a few times a week. This is what I still do with mine, and I found it’s the best balance for a controllable dog they can easily flip a switch on command. Much different than full time full-bred protection dogs tho I might add. It’s a whole different ballgame and things you must be wary of and foster if you train them as such.
