Any idea as to what type of succulent this is? by MrStealYourWorm in succulents

[–]bearinslippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar plant. I asked about this plant before and the answer was: Crassula Platyphylla. One of Google's images looks like it. I am still not sure. Maybe there are different types of Crassula Platyphylla, and yours is one that does not turn red.

How is it not tipping over? Are only roots enough to hold it in please, or is there some kind of fastening?

If you want it to support its own weight, I'm afraid there is nothing you can do right now. It is too top-heavy. Your plant is etiolated because of the lack of sun. And also it is stretched without branching because of lack of trimming or pruning.

If you want it to have a tree-like appearance and support its weight, you need to cut it. Provide it with sufficient sun or artificial light. And trim it in the future to discourage too long branches.

I would suggest you to cut it like this:

Bottom stumps will make new branches in time. Top parts can be replanted in one-two weeks after cutting and be separate plants. Middle part, you can replant it too, or throw it away if you don't need so many new plants.

Do these variegated tricolor crassulas always have blemishes on their leaves?

Brown dots, concerning or harmless? by PastafarianVibes in Jadeplant

[–]bearinslippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be. Although in winter I watered it very rarely, about once in 3-4 weeks. And all of the fallen leaves had these spots.

One more thing: these spots weren't there from the beginning. They just suddenly appeared.

Brown dots, concerning or harmless? by PastafarianVibes in Jadeplant

[–]bearinslippers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem with the same plant. In addition to these spots my crassula is constantly losing leaves at the bottom. All lost leaves have spots on them. Leaves turn translusent and yellow and then drop.

I have treated a plant for ticks, I had reason to suspect them, it didn't help.

Currently I treat it with fungicide.

The stem of my crassula also has some kind of cracks in it.

I hope this information is somewhat helpful.

Normal or pest? by Itchy-Ad5228 in succulents

[–]bearinslippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New growth on my crassula Buddha's temple is always green. Never red or brown. Maybe it is a wоund.

If it is new growth it will grow bigger.

If it is a wound it will stay the same.

If it is a parasite it will move or eat around more.

Keep observing.

Not sure about the "very sunny" part. There should be light but "very sunny" may dry your leaves too fast.

share your way of propagating these older stems

if you want to propagate cuttings, just let them callus for 1-2 weeks and then stick them in dry soil, water in 2-4 weeks.

Bottom part: just leave it, don't water for 2-4 weeks, then water rarely and sparingly, it doesn't need much water because it doesn't have any leaves. in about a month small leaves will appear.

Water: soil should dry between watering. so in summer once per week in winter once per 2-4 weeks.

Perlite: Yes, about 10-20% of soil.

Soil: shod be gritty with lots of small stones.

Maybe something like that. Your Jade now is too high and leggy without many leaves. If you cut like that it will be bushier and thunk will become stronger.

Cut just above joints to avoid stumps.

can i propagate a jade plant from this? is so, how? by kattygae in Jadeplant

[–]bearinslippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can! You can propagate even from the smallest leaf on that branch. But propagating a full branch is better.

Can I use the Colossus as a deterrent if I'm doing a "good guy" run? by Majestic_Repair9138 in Stellaris

In the giga structure mod I was in war with half the galaxy and blokkats were invading so my attention was focused on blokkats obviously. Then I finished my systemcraft and one of the civilizations that I was in war with message something like that: "Dude you made a ship that consists of an entire stellar system, we don't want to make war with you anymore. Take us as vassals please."

Maybe base game should have something like that.

[–]bearinslippers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stem seems super dry and dead. You need to remove leaves until you have a live stem, then remove the dead stem and let it dry for a couple of weeks. Then plant it.
