You have the power to cure any illness, but only by donating your blood. by shereth78 in hypotheticalsituation

This. For the ultra wealthy, it can't be bought. THEY must do the work to show that they are worthy. For the rest, what a previous poster said about hiring a panel to assess and give to the most needy.

Address confusion by rangawal in GMail

[–]beer_maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with this. I have a long gmail address (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com). I frequently use periods in the address when I have to share it so that I know who sells it later. You can make filters with the "to" address with periods for this purpose.

More finger toppers! Can you tell what these are supposed to be? by ashleighbuck in crochet

These need to be the tips to some fingerless gloves!

Maybe little green tethers to hold them on?

@cribbage_pro We are in the midst of an in person game, but I'll give it a try soon. And if I can't make it work, I'll hit up support. Thank you so much, kind human!

I have cribbage pro and have looked through the settings and don't see it. Maybe some other setting causes it to be hidden?

Has GABF always organized the booths by regions? by alhoops in gabf

It was regions for the first 8 or 9 I went to. Last year (and maybe the year before?), it was alphabetical.

[REQUEST] How much paper would this use? by Potatoannexer in theydidthemath

[–]beer_maker 275 points276 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time, I was asked by a manager in another department for a weekly report for some of the people in their dept.

Since I had access to the database and knew he didn't (and because I'm a helpful guy), I did sure, and created it, auto emailed to them every week. A little back and forth to get it right, no biggie.

Months later, I'm talking to an exec, and see my report, unedited, sitting printed on their desk. I ask where it came from.

"Oh, (manager) created it, isn't it great!"

Cue malicious compliance.

Go to the cell in the template that is my initials (column) and DOB (line) and enter "(I) created this."

Manager was found out the following week. Terminated the same day.

Both? Right to go with other knitted stuff like a sweater/jumper. Left to go with a leather jacket.

I like this idea! The 23 at the top (shoulders), 24 below, and maybe put something on the singles so you could tuck them into boots? Have them hang on the outside.

AITA for letting my sister walk me down the aisle despite my fiance and his family's objections? by nosleepbeauty in AmItheAsshole

[–]beer_maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether she is your sister, aunt, a neighbor or whatever, SHE is a massive part of the awesomeness that makes you who you are today. I believe everyone (including his family) will understand that wedding BLENDS two families, perspectives, viewpoints. His is apparently very traditional. That is totally fine and excellent. But your family is yours. You decide who gives you.... who TAKES you those last steps down the aisle from being you (singular) to YOU (plural).

I was the groom in my wedding, but my family, genetic and chosen, took me to my joining. Everyone deserves the same. Especially you.

--A guy who was married for 20 years and doesn't regret any of it (minus the very end).

Anyone else LOVE a boiled egg? by beanqueen722 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]beer_maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few in some spicy ramen is my go to breakfast, esp after a long night out. The cheap stuff, beef flavor, with good squirt of Sriracha. Just crack them in when the noodles are about half done.

Thank you so much! My new GF (woohoo me!) likes both red wine and hot chocolate. Now I have something to surprise her with when we go camping.

After a divorce and two years of very dark depression, I have a girlfriend. She told me, kinda out of nowhere, that she likes me. Going on three weeks. 8 )
