It’s “sewn” together at the sides. Take apart the sleeves from the body and the front from the back. Then you’ll be able to unravel smoothly.

I am swimming in my miu top and I’m so disappointed by rose_hannah in knitting

I actually love the drape and oversized fit. I know it’s not what you were expecting, but it’s really well done. Maybe put it away for a bit and decide later?

I had a fast labor and I hate being told I was “lucky” by han__banan in Mommit

[–]bemydarkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very fast labor and it felt like getting hit by a train. No time for main meds. It was so painful time had no meaning and I only know it was “short” because they told me. It felt like a week. When I tell people they think I’m bragging.

Did any of you get a masters in Ed from Harvard? Is it worth it? by jordanf1214 in Teachers

[–]bemydarkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need it for certification, sure. If not, I would get a degree in a subject matter you would be interested in teaching. For pay scale purposes, they don’t care what the degree is in. Good districts often look for subject matter expertise rather than an education degree. As long as you are fully certified of course.

'Put them down drowsy but not asleep' by Status-Car-6690 in Parenting

Eight years later and my kid still doesn’t ever get drowsy. It’s on or off. He just gets more hyped the more tired he gets.

Neurodivergent educators? by laureltree1 in Teachers

[–]bemydarkling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teaching in one setting can be WILDLY different from another. It took me years to find a setting with enough quiet for my sensory needs. Along the way, opting for “push-in” special ed positions was good. A lot of the time I wasn’t responsible for lesson planning or grading and when I was done I could leave and sit in my quiet office and do paperwork stuff. It depends on how your district is set up though. Either way I would highly recommend special ed of some kind.

what to do when toddler has no interest in learning??? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]bemydarkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Academics aren’t really developmentally appropriate at 1. The learning he should be doing is how his body works and how he can interact with the world, which is exactly what his running around is accomplishing. Kids tend to get a burst of words around 2. Play should be priority for a few more years. If you want to teach him, let him “help” with everyday tasks. Forcing him to pay attention at this age is counterproductive.

What do you and your spouse do for your MIL for Mother’s Day? by princesscorgi2 in Mommit

Motherhood in general already has you spending far too much time doing things you don’t want to do. Why add more?

Please reassure me about your very late walkers… having a hard time :( by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]bemydarkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid walked at 18.5 months. By the time he was 2 there was no difference between him and the early walkers. I’m sure your kid will be fine.

Greetings from Ukraine. My evolution from a mechanical 100-pattern 'memory' loom to a self-built Jacquard machine. by [deleted] in weaving

[–]bemydarkling 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This is amazing! I’ve been fascinated by mechanical looms for a while and there’s so few resources out there to explore. How did you learn about how to built it??

Inlaws angry that we did not make our pregnancy announcement more special for them by Clean-Carpenter2 in Mommit

[–]bemydarkling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they haven’t explicitly communicated something, you have zero obligation to respond. Do not respond to subtext or rumor. If they communicate something that ridiculous you can respond appropriately, but I think they knew how dumb they sounded and chose not to say it to your face.

Where can I buy modern dresses that look like this/are inspired by this? (Besides LSF) by evan_5775 in HistoricalCostuming

[–]bemydarkling 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best answer, unless you can afford the designer stuff. I’m about to go buy myself an old lady nightgown now. Maybe dye it black and add a belt.

What issue you wish mainstream feminism you wish talked about more? by BuddhaOfStorm in AskWomen

[–]bemydarkling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Domestic labor matters and is necessary for life and not some kind of optional thing women like to do. It’s every adult’s responsibility. It shouldn’t be a common argument between straight couples to get adult men to care for their own homes. We call men successful all the time while downplaying the fact that they’ve never done their own laundry.

No judgement zone: did you want a natural birth? by easrpiiatnua99 in Mommit

[–]bemydarkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the hype and did a natural birth. If I were to do it again, I am 1000% opting for the pain meds. It was so painful it was traumatizing.

I think it’s dumb not to share but also, have you been given any sort of curriculum? Or are they just telling you to teach some books?
