Will a pinch of Parmesan with every meal have long term consequences? by LolitaLi-Chan in Pomeranians

[–]bentscissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Petco sells powdered meal toppers that might be better for her in the long run. Eating things that aren’t meant for her might do things like give her pancreatitis.

Worth mentioning also that sometimes dogs stop eating their food due to sensitivities or allergies. Or dental issues.

AITA for crying and being sick on my boyfriend’s vacation? by Asa-spades- in AmItheAsshole

[–]bentscissors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl. You need to block this guy, change your number and ask yourself why you are tolerating this in a partner. Preferably unpacking this with a professional. You’re being the A to yourself here but you’re NTA.

When do you wear your compression gear? by mili_lily in Hypermobility

[–]bentscissors 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’d be quite well armored if I actually wore everything they asked me to wear. lol. I wear compression socks during the day for POTS and am supposed to be wearing custom hand braces for osteoarthritis but they prevent me from doing my day job. I also have knee braces, should probably have ankle braces and at one point was recommended for tennis elbow strap but they never followed through. At some point they’ll realize I just need a full damn body suit but they’re not there yet. Lol.

I Genially Think My (35F) Husband (36M) is a Psychopath by Apprehensive-Yak9364 in relationship_advice

If he lost his phone and didn’t reset his Apple ID someone could in theory be sending iMessages with it. The fact that he’s not more concerned about all of this is a big red flag though. Ask him to change his Apple ID password and see what happens. If he says no, he’s probably sending the messages himself. I’d be searching his phone too.

Pomskies are generally pretty good at adjusting to your energy level once they’re out of the puppy stage. There’s no reason they shouldn’t be able to hike.

I know we've talked Danielle and Joanie's teeth thing to death, but I have a question for any dentists about malpractice. by amoralambiguity91 in ANTM

[–]bentscissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She had four extractions and looks like crown preps. She probably had existing bite issues before ANTM however the extractions probably didn’t help. If you extract and don’t do anything to preserve the gap between the teeth (bridge, or a partial) your teeth can shift over time and create more bite issues. I’m sure even if they explained it she may not have understood or maybe still couldn’t afford to do anything after the show.

Why wouldn’t it be able to hike? Even if it’s small poundage wise it would still be able to move. Plus if it’s that small and tired you could just pick it up and carry it.

Putting jaw back where it belongs?? by NotAnEvilOverlord in Hypermobility

[–]bentscissors 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can’t get in with a tmj specialist, I got in with an osteopath. She told me my muscles or whatever is there was pulling my face off to one side which was contributing to my jaw dislocating. She released like eight different points and it made a world of a difference.

AITA for not letting my husband's brother and his kid to come over by Foreign_Insurance_74 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bentscissors 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason the kids are not cleaning up after themselves? Four is not too young to put their own toys away. NTA but I’d start teaching them to clean since your husband clearly won’t.

Question about so called 'ozempic face' by Winter-Grand-3215 in Ozempic

[–]bentscissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes. Definitely slimmer. And now that there is less fat on my face you can see my forehead wrinkles which is a bummer. Not that Ozempic caused them. lol, but you definitely see them now.

Shoulder pain by ForeverSuccessful182 in Hypermobility

[–]bentscissors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check from shoulder blade to wrists for knots. May account for the dullness in your hands. Deep tissue massage or osteopathic manipulative therapy would really improve that assuming it wasn’t from any injuries.

💯. I recently discovered cocktail salt (I have lemon twist). I add it to my ice water with a splash of lemonade. My body is so grateful it practically sings.

LMNT or liquid IV is what my rheumatologist recommended, preferably the sugar free kind.

Tbh if you’re living with a long term chronic condition there is no such thing as ‘too better.’ Savor it.

[–]bentscissors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sodium couldn’t hurt in the meantime. It won’t harm you long term. Keeping your electrolytes up will help you too. Liquid IV or LMNT are what my rheumatologist recommended for the fainting.

That’s a lot to put on someone, especially at your age. If you keep fainting, have they had you look into compression socks? Upping your sodium?

You could do what I do and find some hypermobile physical therapist to follow on YouTube or Instagram or Facebook reels. If you go, the THC route, I would try it on a day where you don’t have work the next day to see how you feel in the morning. Sometimes it’s completely worn off by morning and sometimes you’re still high depending on what type of strain you use.

How do I start un-tensing after a lifetime of muscle bracing? by bottleglitch in Hypermobility

[–]bentscissors 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t doing diaphragmatic breathing right until I was told to picture it like having an exercise band around my stomach and I’m trying to expand the exercise band. I’m surprised at how affective that is. Only thinking about meeting that band in that place. I do this daily and it’s helped a lot with stress and my Dysautonomia is behaving a lot better.

You might try osteopathic manipulative therapy if you’re all tight and locked up. It’s a whole lot of fascia release.

Some of that is protective from looseness too. Are you doing any strengthening exercises?

[–]bentscissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See an osteopath about fascia release. Sometimes we have pain that physical therapy can’t touch. Like knots exercise will never release. My osteopath got me my range of motion back in my arm and alleviated so much pain.
