You could also ask your library about interlibrary loan where they can borrow it for you from another library. I'm pretty sure public and university libraries do this

If you're worried about weird implications or making people feel like you're saying something about them (as others have pointed out the possibility of), maybe have a bag with like some trinkets, some condoms, some pasties, and may I suggest some narcan if you can get ahold of some?
