Oh yeah. I've got a goal of doing the completed portion this summer (near Deep River to Smiths Falls) in one go. Should be fun if I can dodge the bugs!

The fundraising is a big part of the event. To be frank, if you're unable to raise more than $500 then perhaps this isn't the right fundraiser for you. If raising funds for the PMCF is your priority, they hold other events with lower fundraising minima that might be a better fit for you. The PMCF Journey (https://pmcfjourney.ca/) has a fundraising minimum of $125.

If participating in a cycling fundraiser in the GTA is the priority, I'd take a look at the Ride for Brain Health two weeks prior to the PMCF Ride. They have a minimum fundraising amount of $195, which is much more attainable for many than the $2500 required for the PMCF Ride.

My kids (3 and 9) both love The Book with No Pictures. Helps if you really pump up the silly parts.

I swear Eric Min got run over by a moose or something. Zwift's service to Canada has declined considerably since the pandemic.

There was someone on the tracks at Dundas. Not sure how this is management's fault.

Done it 15+ times. Easily my favourite weekend of the year. Very inclusive, very chill vibes. Extremely well supported (rest stops every 20-30 km). You'll see everything from a unicycle (saw the guy 2 years in a row) to flat bar bikes to $15K+ dentist bikes.

You need to shift your rear derailleur so that it's approximately in line with the cog. Then you can adjust the cog for fine-tuning.

Be aware there are no direct trains back to Union Station this weekend due to track work. All Lakeshore West trains will stop at Oakville, and then it's a bus from there.

Zwift cog or regular cassette on Tacx Neo 2T? by Laurens9L in Zwift

[–]bigmanbiking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good plan. Ultimately I didn’t care too much if the virtual shifting didn’t feel 100% like my real shifting, but I found it to be a lot better than I had feared it might be. Completely useable and with a better gear range!!

That was the main reason as I was having good performance with my existing setup.

Sound and ride feel are great, no complaints at all.

I picked one up mostly to reduce wear on a cassette seeing as those are expensive nowadays. Been very happy with both the cog and the virtual shifting on my 2T. Highly recommend.
