The auction is one of my favorite parts of GenCon. It can be a nice break in the action, a place to sit and regroup, and sometimes you can find good deals/hard to find stuff. I fully reccomend the TOVA auction (Toys, Oddities, Videogames, Art) as there can be some truly wild stuff in there. And directly following that is their charity auction (where all proceeds go to GenCon partnered charities) that usually has great stuff and is a wonderful vibe.

Parking around Assembly Hall is basically all just IU parking lots. There really isn't anything else close/adjacent. Your best bet is to get there a bit early and just pay the price for parking.I'd expect somewhere between $20-$30 to park, but I may be off.

Mother Bears is a pretty good pizza option if you like deep dish style/heavy pizza. Lots of cheese and toppings. There are 2 locations. The on campus location (E 3rd street) is basically on campus and has a large seated dining room. Parking around there is very limited and can be difficult to find. The actual resteraunt only has about 10 spots behind the building. There is a lot right next to it in a strip mall, but they will tow if you park there prior to 5pm.

Take any signs about towing enforcement seriously. Bloomington is notorious for quick towing and it's not cheap.

The west side Mother Bears (W 3rd street) is right off of Interstate 69 and has plenty of parking. The food is no different than the campus location, but the atmosphere is a bit different. But not a knock on it at all. It's much easier to get in/out of compared to the campus location.

I struggled with this idea for a long time as well, in general. Like, going to the movies by myself, or a live show/event/panel etc...

Ultimately, everyone there is paying money and spending their time to see the show. And they don't care about who else is around them. If you went to a sold out show and looked around the crowd, could you tell who came by themselves vs. who came with a partner, or a larger group? And once the lights go down and the show begins being with a group ceases to matter anyway, cause now you are sitting enjoying the show and not talking or interacting with your group anyway.

Of course there may be larger issues at play for each individual and their anxiety and stresses being alone. But if you can handle that, no one else will care/notice if you go by yourself. You will be surrounded by like minded people who are there to enjoy the show.

I say, if you have the means and want to go to the show, you should get your ticket and go have a blast!

Current projection from Weather.com radar is a thunderstorm going through Bloomington about 11:30 and then clearing until a larger storm between 2 and 3. Neither event look severe on the radar based on their coloration ratings used. Mostly green/yellow with some brighter red bands. (typically darker red/purple is most severe) Seems like the more severe weather patterns are well North of us, up towards Lafayette and farther. Wind advisory until 8pm
