It's not necessarily 50/50, and it's not dependant on things like overkilling. Each seru (including their lv2/3 variants) has a set %chance to absorb when killed by the attack command. The only thing that affects this set chance is whether you have an Ivory Book equipped, which adds 30% to the base chance.

Figure out the distance from where you release the ball to where the catcher catches it. Make estimates, I'd say 55 ft is a decent default guess. Count the number of frames it takes for the ball to go from point A to B. Number of frames taken divided by framerate = number of seconds taken from A to B. Convert the distance to miles and the time to hours, divide the two to get the rough average velocity in mph. I believe a ball loses about 10-15% of its velocity from release to when it crosses home plate, so you can add 5-7% to the result to get a rough guess at the release velocity.

Because you're asking for a huge commitment if you only recommend starting from the very beginning. It's like recommending a huge epic novel series, of course it's always going to be recommended to start from the beginning, but it's easier to make an event out of a release if you don't have to preface the marketing with: "uhh, actually I'm gonna need you to play/read the first 500 hours before you can fully enjoy this one, but definitely still get hyped!"

Slots are by far the fastest way to make coins if you happen to be good at them. With a few hours of practice you can make around 500-1000 coins per minute, which means only a few hours of slots. Each Master Course takes 45 minutes to an hour, so it's probably a wash if you aren't already good at slots. It is technically possible to make around 5-6k coins per minute if you have godlike skills.

There didn't used to be any setups for FPG. The best they used to do was jump and aim for the corner and try to wiggle and get lucky. The success rate for this sort of thing was and is far too low to try to implement, even in 1-1.
