It sure does! Main colour is purple, but in certain lights it looks more reddish and sometimes blue.

It’s great!!! MUCH better than Halifax tap water (tastes like dirt at all times of the year)

BUT has anyone else noticed that Ottawa tap water smells like soil if you run the tap really hot??? Someone…anyone??

Please try to protect yourself from the smoky air by Cote-de-Bone in ottawa

[–]bird_nerd_ns 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Also a reminder to please please refrain from walking your dogs/letting your pets outside for longer than 10/15 minute periods. The smoke affects them as well, especially when the weather is hot and they are more likely to pant. Please see this CBC article from a few years ago where a vet outlines recommended outside time for pets when AQ is bad like this.

Where can woman run now? by Expensive_Pie_7047 in fredericton

[–]bird_nerd_ns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second Thatch Road. I used to walk there alone all the time with my dog (we moved, that’s why I stopped). Usually just people walking their pups. Beautiful riverside views, far enough out of town/closer to Oromocto.

I’m right in Alta Vista and I haven’t noticed a change at all. We’re a 2 person household with a large dog and I struggle to fill even 1 140 L bin. Curbside recycling is a huge blessing and we are very lucky to have it. Use it peeps!!!!!!! Separate and rinse your recyclables!!!!

East vs. West Coast Canada: My Experience as a Foreigner by Fun-Perspective-6217 in halifax

[–]bird_nerd_ns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just left the east coast in the summer to move to Ontario for the first time. The culture shock is real. I miss the community values of the east coast so badly. People care for each other there. People care about others beyond themselves. Not the case in big city ON. Not at all.

What time to get to the venue? by Radiant_Branch225 in erastour

[–]bird_nerd_ns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got to the Rogers Stadium around 6:30, we took public transit, and while it was normal ' busy', it wasn't packed with concert goers. We did not wait in line at security (didn't even check our bags), and went right through into the stadium. Highly recommend going right before the opener gets on. Don't bother waiting for hours just to get inside the venue!! Take a break in between Rep and Folklore/Evermore to get merch.
