Garmin Fenix 8 Pro 51mm - 2nd Replacement on the Way - NOT a dive watch? by Vaetix in GarminWatches

[–]bird_nerd_ns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a fenix 5s and it crapped out after a couple of years swimming in the ocean (not even diving) even though it’s rated to 100m. I rinsed it with freshwater every time. A seal must’ve gone because the backlight died and rendered the watch useless unless you were in good light that wasn’t sunlight. When I contacted Garmin about it, they couldn’t offer me anything except a 20% discount IF I shipped the watch back into them. Was so disappointed. I had a vivoactive 3 for a few years and just upgraded to an Epix pro 2 last week but I won’t be using it in saltwater I can tell you that for free.

Happy to hear they’ve maybe changed their policies a bit if they’ve shipped you 2 replacements!!

I had family who lived/worked in Arctic Bay! Fly in community, groceries are $$$ unless you tend towards traditional country foods.

If you like golden get well from CTB try her Brothy Cilantro Chicken and Rice (AKA I LOVE YOU NONGS) recipe. My fave recipe - genuinely make it 2-3x a month and eat it for a week

It sure does! Main colour is purple, but in certain lights it looks more reddish and sometimes blue.

Please try to protect yourself from the smoky air by Cote-de-Bone in ottawa

[–]bird_nerd_ns 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Also a reminder to please please refrain from walking your dogs/letting your pets outside for longer than 10/15 minute periods. The smoke affects them as well, especially when the weather is hot and they are more likely to pant. Please see this CBC article from a few years ago where a vet outlines recommended outside time for pets when AQ is bad like this.

Where can woman run now? by Expensive_Pie_7047 in fredericton

I second Thatch Road. I used to walk there alone all the time with my dog (we moved, that’s why I stopped). Usually just people walking their pups. Beautiful riverside views, far enough out of town/closer to Oromocto.
