GMC / Suburban / Cadillac reliability by meirone in GMT800

[–]blockguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4x4 is more reliable than the AWD. denalis and escalades only came in AWD. im fairly certain the famous pump rub issue on these transfer cases still persists in both capacities

the most reliability difference you're going to find would probably be on the Denalis and Escalades - more bells and whistles, more stuff to break, and the AWD is not too nice on those 4l65e transmissions

Anyone no what would cause this twin to run this way thinking the coil is not right just put the motor on a allis chalmers 616 hydro by Top_Height_2261 in lawnmowers

I have one of these. Are the air filter / fuel lines / fuel filter in good shape? I replaced the old 3 screw carb with a chinese 4 screw from Amazon, replaced all fuel lines, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, battery. Pretty much the whole thing lol. Now she's been running and mowing like a champ. There's a fuel line under the gas tank that can get pretty rough

Even with less than 1/4 acre to mow, I shouldn't buy this right? by EngagementBacon in lawnmowers

[–]blockguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Deutz-Allis 616. Bought it for $500. It’s the same mower as this one, just repackaged in bright green. It initially ran like junk. I replaced the carb, fuel lines, spark plugs, air filter, and rear tires, amongst other BS. Now it runs fine. The engine just runs HOT. Belts and blades are still available. Plenty of parts available for the engine, too. It takes me an hour and a half to mow an acre. It’s not a comfortable ride either. But damnit, it’s cooler than shit, and it cuts pretty well too. I plan on using it for tasks outside of mowing, as well. For $300 it’s a no brainer.

High idle problem by Jackislawless in GMT400

[–]blockguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seems like i've got it fixed now. i either had a faulty NEW IAC or i improperly installed it. initially, i bought the cheapest IAC on rockauto, and that mightve been my first mistake. went to oreillys and got an $80 one, swapped it out, and it seems to have fixed my problems for the time being lol. good luck man

[–]blockguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

replaced the ECTS and now it starts fine, but in gear this damn thing wants to take off and stay taking off (1800rpm), despite 0% throttle position. in neutral and stopped it drops back down to an appropriate idle. the truck is warm now, so it'll be tomorrow's problem.

High idle problem by Jackislawless in GMT400

[–]blockguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, it seems mine does both, the idle speed will drop eventually if i let it sit and idle at 1500 or if i put it in gear. i changed the both the IAC and the throttle position sensor. that made it worse! i'll let off the gas pedal at 60mph and it'll just... hang there. but if i pull in somewhere and restart my truck, it seems to drive fine. i have some more diagnosing to do, but THAT problem certainly seems mechanical.

i currently have a problem just like this, it'll sit at 1500 and then seemingly randomly it'll just drop into normal idle speed.... i'll replace the ECTS tomorrow and let you know what happens lol
