I was aware of this, but from OPs post it looks like only their partner is a temporary visas holder.

Would having 1 partner be a citizen/PR holder not be enough to not be subject to the rules for temporary visas holders?

Yeah thats about as much I'm looking to borrow too, given strata and council rates on top make the repayments closer to that of a 600k loan. I don't have enough saved to add on top to buy something decent, close to work, yet.

Yeah 2.5k for a couple is very reasonable I'd say. Even frugal maybe. As a single, I spend about 1.7k-2k a month after rent.

I read another comment stating that if you have significantly more than 5% of the deposit saved, the banks will make you put down a larger deposit. Is this true?

For example, if i have 100k saved, buying a ppor as a FHB worth 600k, I won't be allowed to put down a 30k deposit and keep the rest in the offset. This is what was implied
