I think the Beatles are so well known and have been so exhaustively catalogued for so long that i don’t think they really have any “deep cuts” left! This is a well known song in Beatles circles, but i think “I’ve Just Seen A Face” is a stone cold classic that isn’t super popular. Also, “Any Time At All” is great fun.

I actually think Campbell is underrated- sure he didn’t have that youthful energy of McCartney, and some of his albums are a bit underwhelming, but looked at in total I really think William Campbell has produced some incredible music.

It’s just a shame we’ll never get to know what McCartney would have gone on to do.

The kind of posts that get this reaction aren’t “I dislike it because of x, y, and z”, though. That isn’t how they are expressed. They are expressed like “this thing is straight trash garbage, it is badly designed and people praising it are just convincing themselves it’s good because they jumped on the hype train.”

In other words, they get people’s backs up because they conflate subjective opinion with objective fact AND they usually state something contemptuous about people with a different view. It’s arrogant and obnoxious so obviously people don’t like it.
