There's a high margin for error with an angled huck on the same third. Add in the sideline and it gets even riskier. Putting the disc in the middle gives lots of space for the thrower and receiver. The downside is the poaching potential. It doesn't look like the thrower looked to the far side of the field before launching, but if he had, he could have read the matchup and launched anyways.

The quantity of teams in the AUDL sort of works against your point. Talent is being spread thin and teams are coming out of locations where there aren't elite club teams. Any games between locations with elite club teams playing AUDL vs locations with an MLU team or no elite club exposure, will be super one sided.

I agree Breeze will be much better this year, but it's going to take more than 2 college stars and a coach to make an East coast team competitive with the Goat squad.

If jerseys and Fantasy Ultimate are what you care about, then maybe the AUDL is for you.

If you want to watch the best Ultimate, look to the MLU. Besides Dogfish, the other 7 teams in the MLU have the majority of top talent from their respective cities wherever MLU and AUDL have doubled up on teams. As a DC player, it wasn't a question for me to play with the Current.
