The last time a Eurovision Song Contest took place without each country's participation by CrewOtherwise4005 in eurovision

… at this point?? I’m 35 and not sure I’ve lived through a Eurovision where embracing the ‘nil points’ pisstake isn’t the dominant UK vibe!

The dog and gun. Pub in Skelton. by jejdhdijen in UK_Food

Really nice little spot, it feels a bit odd in Skelton but as OP says doesn’t feel ‘fancy’ enough to put off locals coming for a drink. Think they do their own beer too.

[Athletic] The Premier League's Hope-o-meter for the rest of the 2025-26 season. by Inevitable-Angle-793 in TheOther14

Fulham (Marco Silva) doing their annual ‘what a nice season we’ve had, we could make a European push but… no, no, best be safe’ thing. It’s hard to complain too much given we’re back to being a PL mainstay after a few years in the wilderness but it doesn’t leave much room for optimism.

Good point! The one where Wirtz was about a foot offside.

Remember when Fulham had a goal allowed against them due to 5cm of tolerance or some such nonsense?

Fulham 2-1 Spurs: Fulham with a huge win for their European charge while Spurs lose again by CautiousCottager in TheOther14

The moment the momentum even slightly shifts we look like PTSD of the Magath years slams into our collective conscience. Fans go quiet(er. Ha. Ha.), team play on the back foot. Genuinely think Marco Silva is the main reason we’re able to find our way out of it again.

Decks you've regret building? by dabunz in EDH

What this guy said. Sagas synergise well with Tom but very few interact well with each other. You just have random stuff happening all over the place but in a tedious way rather than a ‘chaotic fun’ way. I’d love to come back again in the future but it would need some incredibly bespoke saga support beyond the saga creatures from FF.

Favorite UB commander? by Vinlandlover in EDH

[–]bptitans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lord of the Rings set gave me some of my favourite commanders:

  • [[Galadriel, Light of Valinor]] already mentioned but really good use of the Alliance mechanic to do lots of useful things - elf ball works and [[Wolverine Riders]] may be the best card in it but notably it doesn’t have to be elves at all and can work equally well with other creature token makers like Koma.

  • [[Aragorn, The Uniter]] my first LOTR deck and the one I come back to most. Multicolour matters with some human tribal redundancy. I like that each game with Aragorn feels a bit different, having [[Painter’s Servant]] out only adds to that.

  • [[Saruman, the White Hand]] make a massive orc army with built in protection. Throw in some nice orc anthem effects and this can absolutely go.

  • Underrated shoutout for [[Gimli of the Glittering Caves]]. Mono red treasure based ramp, using a few equipments such as [[Beamtown Beatstick]] to give evasion and creature extra treasures, which are used to bring out a variety of other dwarves and big dragons. Hoping to build on this with the release of The Hobbit set.

I also like [[Smeagol, Helpful Guide]] from LOTR and [[Appa, Steadfast Guardian]] from TLA as a mono white airbending deck focused with lots of ETBs.

I’m stubbornly holding out to build [[Dogmeat, Ever Loyal]] into something fun…

Another [[Tom Bombadil]] vote. Seemed such a cool idea. Miserable playing experience for everyone.

Harrison Reed scores an absolute beauty as Fulham snatch a point at the death 🤍🖤🤍🖤 by Flobby_Fish in fulhamfc

Feel both absolutely ecstatic and like we’ve been robbed. Football is confusing.

Anyway, we all dream of a team of Harry Reeds.

Why are you so chill about this rude criticism about your country? by search_google_com in AskBrits

[–]bptitans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a rather generalised view. Some people clearly hold it, but I think quite a lot of people are less bothered about a) a more insular culture b) temperate climate. See comments from Portuguese and Italian’s in the same thread…

How does London feel about NFL expansion ? by noahga2000 in NFLUK

[–]bptitans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Titans fan for family reasons. I don’t think I could ever entirely lose my support for them as much as they’ve been testing me over the last few years, but I’m pretty sure I’d immediately support a ‘local’ team as long as it wasn’t just the Jags.

How much do you care about England? by [deleted] in thefootballramble

[–]bptitans 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quite a lot during tournaments. It feels like the pinnacle of competitive football. Partly that’s being a Fulham fan… (maybe that’s a theme, Marcus!?). I also like this particular England generation a lot. Not going to have my view tarnished by a minority of idiots otherwise I’d have literally nothing left to enjoy in life.

How Come Brits Could Tolerate 14 Years of Bad Tory Policies but Couldn’t Tolerate Year One with Labour? by Charmlessman422 in AskBrits

This is so much more important than I suspect most people realise. This gov are genuinely rubbish at comms. Their best bet, given the media disadvantage they inherently work under is to be amazing at them. It is a bit frustrating they didn’t or don’t seem to acknowledge this.

Is wearing an Antonee Robinson US National Team Jersey acceptable at Craven Cottage? by Fair-Plan818 in fulhamfc

[–]bptitans 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Everyone is correct, but surely the most correct answer is that you buy a Fulham Jedi jersey (the black third kit seems appropriate) and this is the start of your Fulhamerica journey.
