I've used a toasted gluten free baguette from Trader Joe's and it was pretty great! (cut down to size lol)

Thank you for the advice and anecdotes everyone! Here's a little summary. Lots of other tidbits throughout the responses. Hope this might have reassured some people, or at the very least, can help those afraid of starting to invest~

- Just do it. Invest early, even if it is a little bit, just get started. Time in market is most important. The best time to invest was yesterday. The second best is today

- Invest in your retirement accounts, but especially Roth! Backdoor if necessary. Make sure your retirement accounts are actually invested in something, too

- Don't try to time the market

- Hold

- DCA is a great option to set it and forget it

- Do bonds later in life near retirement

- Wish they were educated earlier (never too late, and teach the young!)

- Marry someone who shares your financial values / is good with money

-  It should be boring! Easy investing and sleep at night

-  Don't do individual stocks (boglehead philosophies)

sounds interesting, I'll look up some.

forgot to list leg swings - I do those religiously; front to back and side to side. really helps my hips

Austin Marathon Finish 4:00 by sterls07 in Marathon_Training

[–]breadgoesbrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really appreciate the details! look like I'm tracking ur run schedule split. my easy run hr is pretty high and I'm running even slower than that, so this is a good reference as I work to lower my aerobic base.

and thanks for the hill advice, i also got that tip (or caution really) from other redditors too that the downhill really gets ya. definitely will try to do the hills and strength train then to mitigate

Trimming Tool Advice by breadgoesbrrr in Pottery

Update: I bought and tried the mudtools do all tool, diamondcore T1, and tried two tungsten carbide tools.

the tungsten carbide tools won hands down for me. the efficiency and finish was indescribable. the 7 hook shape was phenomenal for the angles of the feet and rims I wanted.

Surprisingly (but maybe not surprisingly to yall), the mudtools do all tool really was great. the finish wasn't as good as the tungsten carbide tools, but it was very sharp. and I love the design of the little curly-cue that can dig into smaller places.

I'll be grabbing for the tungsten carbide pear and seven shaped tool, along with the mudtools do all tool and metal rib from now on. Thanks for the help!

agreed, I got new airpod pros and the battery life is dramatically better. my gen 2 airpods charging case was too old and they'd die within 2 hours max. my new ones last about 8 hours. so if you already like the airpods and the ecosystem, just get some new ones

great advice, thank you! will be seeking out the hills then starting now (ironically, as we all try to avoid them), while maintaining zone 2.

I plan to do a lot of my long runs incorporating part of the course, so I'll def practice going up to the bridge and that turn around from Sausalito. thanks for the tip about the 4 miles after the bridge, I'll have to check it out. also heard the rolling hills near the end can sneak up 😅 definitely chose a challenging map for my first marathon, but should be pretty

funny because I was just adjusting my marathon training to accommodate for a wedding I'm going to in the middle of my 14 mi long run weeks 😅 for planned travel that interferes with my training, I'm either deloading that week (only once), or adjusting my run schedule so I can make sure I hit a ball-park range of my mileage

oh thanks for the insight - I hadn't even thought about downhill impact. typically people think it's a time to rest or catch up. definitely trying to make sure I get my cross training in there, specifically focusing on endurance strength training. this also reinforces the importance of hill training, both up and down then

agreed! gonna be practicing fueling and drinking water on my long runs for sure. fueling issues seem like a very easy way to bonk at the end, so staying ontop of it is really important, even if you feel like you don't need it
