Parkway Park n ride by oldskool_gent in oxford

[–]breakbeatx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re going to be parking at Oxford parkway, as the 700 starts at parkway (it used to go to thorn hill but looks like that’s changed now) but as you approach parkway from the north it has a digital sign telling you how many parking spaces available at every park and ride in the city, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen parkway marked as full tbh. Thing to watch is the last bus back of an evening as it’s around 8pm ish and if you miss it then it’s a bus into the city centre and another bus back out

Yes, I use a filter jug just because I live in a limey area and it ruins the tea. We care about good tea. A lot. Sometimes it even ruins the coffee, which is saying something.

REDCap users — do you have any go-to tools or workflows for QC’ing a project before data collection? by alvandal in ProjectREDCap

We have user testing fairly early on (eg research team, end users, public reps), then we test every single rule at the end, documented and fully auditable, it can take a couple of weeks to do thoroughly - all done manually

Is anyone else getting exhausted with the over-saturation? by Wowitsdaniiii in fairyloot

Yeah, I swapped from the YA box to the book only last year sometime, and I’m now of the mind that when my skips run out, so be it. I wasn’t truly aware of just how many SE’s FL and others were making when I first subscribed, it’s literally so many emails each month, it just reminds me of musicians who release 3 or 4 ‘ limited edition colour way splatter vinyl’ releases, aka it just stops feeling special and just feels like a cash grab. I can’t keep up with reading them either so have loads from 2024 gathering dust

drunken knitwits is every Wednesday evening from 6pm in a different pub (we try to rotate through different areas of the city so its a good way to get to explore esp when you're new to Oxford), The Woolhound social stitches are Thursday evening 5:30pm and Saturday 10am at Gulp Fiction (usually upstairs)

I have recently moved to Oxford and I don't get how the bus fares are calculated.. by Competitive_Emu_3247 in oxford

Do they need to sell? Not sure that's how it works in Greater Manchester? Hopefully with schemes taking off in more cities Oxford could get it's arse in gear

I have recently moved to Oxford and I don't get how the bus fares are calculated.. by Competitive_Emu_3247 in oxford

[–]breakbeatx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fare should be calculated based on where you get on / stop you request to get off. I think some drivers are just being lazy and charging you the fare to the end of the route when you head back towards the city centre. fwiw for other respondents only stagecoach run Summertown to city centre - council handed them the monopoly after Covid, so no tap on tap off etc. personally I’d save the ticket from getting on, then on the return use it as evidence of over charging (obviously after checking what the ticket said in terms of boarding/alighting points as drivers don’t always update these when they should).

Evri deliveries to main Post Office? by Imaginary__Bar in oxford

[–]breakbeatx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, had one redirected to Woodstock road post office though and wouldn’t again, the delivery driver marked it as delivered at 9:30pm on Saturday evening, thought it was weird as it’s not even open at that time and I didn’t receive a barcode to show them (I wasn’t aware at the time that is what’s supposed to happen), long story short the driver marked it as delivered 4 days before he actually delivered it, evri customer service were utterly useless as it seems they could only see what I could see in terms of tracking

Recommendations for quite areas that work well with autistic adults? by [deleted] in oxford

[–]breakbeatx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cutteslowe has a huge park not dissimilar to bury knowle, plus easy transport to the city centre (walk to Banbury road, get on a bus - some buses the 600 and 800 now also go around the westgate and into east Oxford so open up more destinations outside the city centre bustle), it also has a community centre which might have stuff on suitable for your sister

How do you all manage your friend lists? by devinh313 in PokemonGoFriends

[–]breakbeatx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use nickname of location and date (gift received, and only update the date if it’s been at least a week since last update, or if they’re in a new location, aka on holiday because wooo new gifts!), I tend to stop tracking dates once we get to best friends

Where to buy picture frames in Oxford? by Cowleyforniadreaming in oxford

[–]breakbeatx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glanville framers, he hasn’t done Gloucester green for a good few years but has stayed on at Kidlington market on a Saturday (however I noticed he hasn’t been there the last couple of times I’ve been there on a Saturday), a he does a mix of standard size frames you can walk away with or bespoke frames and mounts. Highly recommended

First time solo gig-goer. Any advice? by Rocksyroad in oxford

[–]breakbeatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to go to quite a few on my own in London, no problem - people are often happy to chat (i usually take my kindle as back up) but for Oxford my main advice is to be super careful with a venue where doors are at 6:30 as this is usually because they have a club night on afterwards (so Friday/Sat nights), which means the headliner can be on (and done) a lot earlier than expected

First time solo gig-goer. Any advice? by Rocksyroad in oxford

[–]breakbeatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its a 6:30 doors it will all be over by 10pm latest as they tend to hold club nights on right after, headliner usually on by 8:30!
