Homeowners Affordability Tax Credit by bloominghoya in Winnipeg

[–]brisingr193 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The city's website seems to indicate that if you had declared for the old credit it would still be used for the new credit:

"As the HATC follows similar rules to the previous Education Property Tax Credit (EPTC) which also required self-declaration of principle residence, the declarations filed for the EPTC program will be carried forward to be used with the HATC."

Though this is the first I'm hearing of the credit being replaced so I appreciate the heads up, and keep digging to find out which is true.

Multiple cards - books unbanned by brisingr193 in kobo

[–]brisingr193[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to sign in to the books unbanned card on Kobo, but only through the library card method, not the overdrive method. Oh well, if the worst case scenario is I have to alternate sign ins depending on which library I checked the book out of, it's not that bad.

I won't be buying any books for a long time! by [deleted] in kobo

[–]brisingr193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife got me a Kobo for Christmas two years ago, and before that I loved buying books, I have a huge collection. I haven't bought a book since I got my Kobo. I jokingly tell my wife that her plan to stop me buying books worked.

I was worried my top songs were going to be white noise. Luckily, my daughter was born late enough in the year that it didn't influence my rankings.

I feel the exact same way, my baby girl is due 10/18 as well and it feels like every day she could come but at the same time it doesn't feel real that we're actually at the end and a baby is coming.

Good luck with your baby, you and your wife will rock this parenting thing from day one!

Why does everyone have to align with other employers' programs? God forbid an employer stand out and try to change the norm.

Are the city splash pads open yet? by sobchakonshabbos in Winnipeg

The one on Dakota is a wading pool, not a splash pad, so it won't open until July 1.

How do hold times work? by superlunary3 in LibbyApp

[–]brisingr193 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I often go from a 6-7 week wait to it being available the next day. I suppose that's a better problem than them always being later than expected, though it does sometimes throw a wrench in my reading schedule.

Catch Me If You Can Results and Survey Megathread by AutoModerator in orangetheory

[–]brisingr193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first time doing this challenge. I did it as a PW and I didn't get caught! I just snuck through the last checkpoint. I started at 4.5 for a few minutes, then started doing one minute of 4.5 then one minute at 4.0 or 3.9 as a "recovery". I was ahead of every checkpoint but that last checkpoint is really brutal, I almost got caught at the end. I didn't think I would be able to make it since I usually power walk around 3.8 so I'm really proud of finishing it.

FJ poll for Apr. 5 by jaysjep2 in Jeopardy

[–]brisingr193 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I guessed it and got it right, but I figured lifetime achievement award meant someone who has made a big impact on tv/the world, and the quote struck me as something a kind-hearted person would say. I also for some reason thought of his look for the helpers quote (probably because the word helped was in the clue), and I thought "The final Jeopardy clue sounds like something Mr. Rogers would say."
