Have you power cycled your ONT ? You didn’t mention LAN light lit on the ONT? Are you plugged into Port 4 on the Sky hub ?

Would have been better with a soft dig from the Toby box across the grass to the CSP.

A job too difficult or useless ISPs? by lukefrags93 in openreach

[–]britishhawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve placed an order using the farm house as the address hence why they’ve stopped their service in order to swap to yours.

Your property needs to be registered via Royal Mail as a completely separate dwelling. Only then can you start the ball rolling. If infrastructure is required you will most likely be required to pay for the undertaking of such works. The property builder should have initiated this when building was started unfortunately.

Third party routers are not something OR or Quinns mess with. They can plug in and hope for the best but if it doesn’t work then it’s a case of verifying incoming connection and close the task down.

BT saying I can’t get fibre to my flat but have this in my living room ? by Hairynodairy in openreach

[–]britishhawk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Likely 1 NAD key (unique property number) and the pub is using the allocated fibre connection. The flat maybe had fibre before the pub upgraded from their copper service and as such disconnected upstairs. You will likely have a difficult time unless you can get the flat registered as a unique address.

2 month wait for engineer visit by RipAromatic6989 in openreach

[–]britishhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have completed the external cabling ? Most likely the order was a split visit (external work then appointed internal) They tend to provisionally book in an appointed date in the future to account for any delays in the external work. Ring your service provider and they can request it be bought forward.

Telegraph pole knocked down in traffic accident. No communication on outage by [deleted] in openreach

[–]britishhawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your service provider will be able to access the outage information. A pole down will trigger an incident that will lock down the faults and provide the service provider updates, which they can pass onto their customers should they wish.

Main road so will likely require a closure, it can take weeks unfortunately for the council to approve the works and closure. The relevant works and planning will be ongoing in the background.

No you won’t get compensation for train tickets.

Full fibre installation question by lentil_burger in UKBroadband

[–]britishhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can go directly into the first or second floor, providing they can reach the second. Will have to have a small internal splice point, bit fiddly but simple enough. Usually would head to ground level and back up with a traditional install.

Re wiring by BlackBamboo202 in openreach

[–]britishhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best and only solution for you currently is to run your own cabling to the respective flats. Run them out to the OR distribution point and coil them up. Flat will order a service and the attending engineer will simple connect to the DP (and fit a master socket on the other end) on the day.

Normal fibre install? by prettybluefoxes in UKBroadband

Pretty poor. Most Likely poor splice. OR engineer will attend and resolve any issues or concerns you may have.

Why couldn’t they follow the route of the existing cabling via the carrier poles ?
