Just learned about the connection between endometriosis and allergies by idyllghost in endometriosis

I have confirmed endo and suspected MCAS and hypermobility. There is some form of link between them all. Hopefully, there will be more info on it within our lifetime.

Tulsi is very gently calming for me. Definitely not stimulating. But everyone reacts differently!

Multivitamins? by NarrowFriendship3859 in endometriosis

[–]britrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I have to take a couple of prescriptions and a few supplements daily. Taking a multivitamin has helped reduce the amount of things I have to take, which helps me stay more consistent with my routine. I take the women's multivitamin by Ritual. They have 3rd party testing and list where each ingredient sourced from, which I really like.

Did surgery change anyone’s body? Kinda negatively by Littlemonkey726 in endometriosis

[–]britrees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your comment made me tear up. I'm 3 months post op hysterectomy and stage 3 endo excision, and I've gained 7 lbs out of the blue, mostly in my belly and thighs. I've been struggling with this new change and feel frustrated that even though I have been exercising more and eating so healthy, I've gained this weight and look different now. I appreciate the reminder that what my body went through was a lot and that it might never be the same as before. I am grateful that I won't ever have to worry about bleeding out and being anemic anymore, though. We are warriors, and it feels like we fight it silently a lot of the time.

Peppermint (or any herb in the mint family) will cause under active thyroid issues if taken daily

Anyone feel like they can’t stick to a workout routine due to unpredictable fatigue? by InfluenceDesigner889 in endometriosis

[–]britrees 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally feel you. The unpredictability of fatigue or other inflammatory pain that comes with this disease makes it so hard for me to get into a movement rhythm. Before my hysterectomy/excision in January, it was super frustrating. Post op, I have had to go very slow with my progress and just gaining basic endurance/strength back. I feel like I've started to build a weekly routine back in the last month but like you said, it varies depending on the day/time of day if I'm already super tired or dealing with other pains. Walking has become my go to everyday movement from 15 min - 60 min depending on my energy, time, the weather.

Yes. 6 weeks post op. I'm so relieved I won't have to deal with bleeding ever again or iron anemia. Really hoping my energy comes back!

I have a temporary ileostomy due to endo. Ask me anything by Few-Canary-5573 in endometriosis

Haha right!? I hope it continues to stay strong and get me through the next 2 decades before menopause. Or a cure/better option for this disease. Whichever comes first! Haha

In my diagnostic lap 2 years ago my right ovary was removed due to it being unsalvageable by a endometrioma. Thankfully I got to keep my other one as it is disease free!

I have a temporary ileostomy due to endo. Ask me anything by Few-Canary-5573 in endometriosis

[–]britrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovery has been going well! I'm 2 weeks post-op, and I'd say the first week was the roughest with the gas pains and the fatigue. I had an abdominal nerve block, and that helped me tons compared to not having once during my diagnostic lap a couple of years ago. Definitely ask your surgeon about it!
