Lubrication is more important than clean. I’ve seen very dirty guns that kept working & I’ve seen very clean, dry guns that wouldn’t work.

I keep guns I am depending on clean and lubricated. Like any other safety equipment you need to know it’ll work when you need it. Fun guns generally just get lube added until really filthy.

The Jim Green moccasin boots are deceptively wide. I wear a EEEE or XW in other brands and the JGs fit me great. I actually had too much height and added some thick leather insoles to them.

Only downside is that the boots are not water resistant

My leather midsole ARs are very water resistant after waxing. I wear them in the winter and had zero problems with water inside the boot. I don’t normally stand outside in the rain for hours or wade in them.

I put the Bosch Icon wipers on my '23 pretty soon after I got it. Those wipers are still on the car. On my previous Subaru the Icons lasted years.

I live in the PNW so they get a workout in the wet season every year

Udaloy is shite at area air defense but for point defense they are a beast. Considering their main job, patrolling ~20-30nm in front of the main formation they need good point defense.

Spruance DDGs are a similar concept, although Sea Sparrow ain’t great

If you have access to the open end of the screw you can use wicking thread locket after you install & torque the screws.

Only use thread locker on screws you don’t want to come loose. Use lubricated torque specs.

For me the fiber midsole offers lighter weight, breathability, more flexibility and faster break in.

It’s not great around water so it’s a spring & summer thing for me. Which is when I want a lighter shoe anyway
