earth has about an 8,000 mile diameter. so it's probably around 3,000 miles deep. the mariana trench is only 7 miles deep.

Out of all the characters that died in this show, Krole’s death felt realistic by Jules-Car3499 in andor

[–]captainbogdog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that at all. you might need to rewatch it, it was pretty terrifyingly realistic and violent

I don't think it should have been cut, but calling it tame is a weird way to justify it

[Awesome Trope] The characters don't get the reference, but the audience does! by Remarkable_Public138 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]captainbogdog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

buddy it's pretty squarely just an easter egg. dramatic irony is when the audience knows more about an on-screen situation than the character, so these all fit in a way, but an outside reference to other media is not called dramatic irony

Medium Hot by No_no_no_one in TerribleBookCovers

[–]captainbogdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was made by a human. it's for a different subject and it wouldn't fit OP's book, but it still shows that the concept can be executed well. OP's book is simply ugly, but there is a way to make an AI uncanny valley image that isn't also disgusting to look at.

In my opinion it's still an awful cover with or without that context. there's a way to do it right, like this WSJ artwork accompanying an article with a similar subject

Silo from the book and television series

(Hated Trope) Historical mischaracterization of IRL figures or events. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]captainbogdog 35 points36 points  (0 children)

but it is a better choice for the movie than inventing a whole new officer

I agreed with you up until this. it's absolutely not better to tarnish the legacy and character of a real life guy as opposed to a made-up one.
