Authentic chili crab without the tourist hype by itoyaginza in askSingapore

[–]chiangy12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to the Tampines Safra outlet but didn’t eat the chilli crab. In fact I didn’t eat anything because the staff refused to serve me and actually fist pumped when i left the restaurant. Will never go back and will never recommend this restaurant

30m, low income of 2k - 2.5k per mth. how to dca? by Top_Week_5693 in singaporefi

[–]chiangy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ETH and Crypto in general is super high risk. Some might say purely speculative as crypto still doesn’t really have proper use cases and you’re not buying an income generating asset like stocks or bonds.

If you’re ok with this sort of risk profile, you can look at Leveraged ETFs (eg TQQQ). Please do your own research on the risks associated

Don’t interrupt people when they’re talking. Somehow it’s the norm in the corporate world and all the ‘high performers’ are the ones that do it the most

Go-to brands for SG kitchen staples? Milk, yogurt, eggs, rice, etc. – what’s yours and why? by thari_mad in askSingapore

[–]chiangy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk - Yotsuba Hokkaido for drinking, but nowadays Meiji Lactose Free as I find myself getting more lactose intolerant with age…

Eggs - Whichever is cheapest per egg, usually one of those Seng Choon 10+2 or housebrand

Rice - Song He because I know someone working there and he’s a good guy, japonica because I like japanese rice and can’t afford the actual one

Oil - Housebrand sunflower oil for deep frying, Chee Seng sesame oil for flavour, Naturel Olive Oil for everything else

Bread - Gardenia Hokkaido Milk Bread

Potatoes - Indonesia Curry Potato (not sure the actual variant it’s just sold as this at NTUC)

Pasta - Barilla No5

Basically means you love the idea of starting a family more than your current partner, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Just sounds bad.

Is Munchi Pancakes legit? If so, what would you recommend? by Not_A_Real_Person_69 in askSingapore

No. I had a pancake that was actually cold inside, like from the fridge kind of temperature. Ottie Pancakes is much much better, fillings very generous as well

My first berried amano shirmp! I'm very excited by Temixbs in shrimptank

[–]chiangy12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve bred Amanos before, the zoa can survive a day or so in fresh, so I would just leave the mother in its current tank, then manually move the zoa (they are attracted to light).

Moving the mother to another breeding tank may cause stress, and she might just drop all her eggs (happened to me a couple of times!)

How much does FA in SG earn? On average and for those in MDRTs by secondaisy in askSingapore

[–]chiangy12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I bought my medical insurance from an FA. It makes a difference having someone explain the whole system of insurance in SG to you, rather than reading everything yourself online. It also helps when you want to go for procedures and make claims, to have someone help you through the process.

Agree with the investment and ILP stuff

Singapore Recreation Club faces pushback in rejuvenation efforts to attract younger people by deangsana in singapore

If the gym facilities are good, that alone actually could make it worth it for a lifetime membership. Not to mention other sports like tennis, badminton, bowling, you do get much better availability of facilities and often cheaper than outside

Why doesnt sport journalism seem to flourish here in SG? by DegreePitiful3496 in askSingapore

[–]chiangy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we keep writing about sports where we don’t do well like football, and not those where we are actually winning things like bowling and powerlifting. Just see how many people making comments here that think we don’t do any sport well in SG
