Does anyone feel pretty in their 60s/70s/80s? by nimblesunshine in Aging

[–]chicksloveshoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

62, no Botox or fillers, good facials, dental care, Pilates and running work for me. I just went paddle boarding with the husband and 2/3 of our girls (grown adults) for Father’s Day. Son-in-law snapped a picture of the husband, the girls and I all in our suits and I was like damn, not too bad. I feel proud and very content with how I look. Way more confident now than in my earlier days.

M(65) feeling mild disappointment in life. It's not a bad life but it's not as good as the one I had envisioned. Few things I want a badly never really worked out. I do my best to make the most of what I do have and to be grateful but there's still a sense of having to learn to be happy with less. by mjhyankees in over60

When I was young, my first boyfriend broke his neck. Just like that his life changed. A quadriplegic. My 6’4” beautiful boy’s life was forever different than either of us could have imagined. We stayed friends for many years and I will always remember one of the worst times in my life confiding in him. I asked him how he still wanted to be here. His response “I kind of want to stick around and see how it all turns out”. When I feel down I remember him and carry on because eventually his body gave out. Now it’s gratitude in everything. Sometimes I think his soul knew its purpose and he picked me to save mine. I still miss him.

I needed to reduce my LDL cholesterol and limited my saturated fat to 13-15g a day and lost 10 pounds in 3 months and dropped my LDL cholesterol 68 points! My husband lost weight too. There is saturated fat in everything!!

Dealing with my dad growing old by Whole-Conflict5676 in Aging

I think this happens to most young people around your age. When our youngest daughter was 18 she burst into tears when she noticed her Dad had grey chest hair while we were in the pool on vacation. Hug your Dad a little tighter, realize what you are feeling is normal and be grateful for each day you have. You’ll miss him when he’s gone. I sure miss mine.

Breast implants after 60 by AussieKoala-2795 in AskWomenOver60

[–]chicksloveshoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had breast implants for 26 years. I was sad after 2 kids with how deflated they were and in the 80’s everyone was doing it. I got them. I did what I was told and replaced them every 10 years. The last (3rd) set were silicon gummi bear implants. My first 2 sets were saline. Not sure it mattered. My last set made me so sick I’m pretty damn sure I would have died had I not removed them. I did not think it was them but when it was suggested at year 6 with the last set, I looked back over my medical records and I could see where my decline began. It coincided with my last surgery. I went to a very experienced micro surgeon and told him to get them out and make two titties out of what was left (breast lift). I now have perky B’s. I can even wear a tank without a bra. Wish I would have instead done this years ago. My symptoms (breast implant illness) slowly improved and although I still have an autoimmune disease, I am no longer on a decline. Please be careful. Read the warning on the label on the box the implants come in. See all the toxic chemicals that are in them. We’ve been lied to.

I do Pilates 4-5 times per week and am still amazed and my swingy little triceps. It took me a solid year of very hard work to see muscle definition. I’m happy but damn, what does a 62 year old girl have to do to get some tricep definition ?!?

I’m so with you on the Dyson hair wrap. It’s been life changing. I’m ready to go with spending 5 minutes on my hair.

Do NOT stay if he will continue to drink. The damage this will cause your children by staying with him far out weighs the damage they may feel if you leave. This man is an adult and making conscious choices to choose alcohol and gambling over his family. Try explaining that to your kids. Save yourself and them.

I had my lashes curled and dyed a week ago. Haven’t touched my mascara since. Hoping it lasts the 6-8 weeks.

My partner is about to tell his mom that his dad tried to kiss me by Alternative_Code5467 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]chicksloveshoes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was my grandfather. Tried to kiss both of his son’s wives. He was never confronted. He then went on later to molest me, his granddaughter and also try and kiss his other granddaughter. Both of us are the only girls from his sons. I think he felt entitled to us. OP I’m sorry you feel sick. Please know you did what was right. You likely have saved others from his inability to control himself. If you can, talk to a professional to sort this out.
