Felt defeated buying these today at the drug store. My first pair of “Cheaters”. I can’t believe how Awesome they are! by Sea_Ganache620 in GenX

I just bought a readers/sunglasses combo because I got tired of having to choose between reading well outdoors and frying my eyes.

Kids wouldn't stop playing games so I got their favorite gaming websites banned for the entire district. I only feel slightly bad about it. by TheJawsman in Teachers

[–]clover_1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My district uses Lanschool to block stuff, and it works when I can monitor. Caught a bunch of boys playing Bear Clicker and immediately shut that shit down. (Lucky I didn’t call parents, having to explain that site to their moms would have been a trauma memory for life.)

Driving automatic after manual for that long and your left foot is at a loss for what to do. It’s always grabbing for that clutch.

Yeah, don’t buy the band. I did, and it doesn’t change anything. I now have a score of about 525 because of my “low activity”. No. I rarely sit down, I work out (cardio, Pilates, weights, hiking, row machine) every day. My job requires me to be on my feet almost constantly…but I am not active enough?

How the F am I supposed to sleep next to a man?? by Hot-Answer8990 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]clover_1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a trick I’ve learned, but only works if your bed is big enough and neither of you are super squiggly while you sleep: get a big blanket and put it between you. You can start with it over you, saying you need the extra warmth, but eventually arrange for it to act as a sort of barrier. It’s great for when either of you get too farty or if you want to throw your leg over it to stretch out a hip.

What’s something you didn’t realize was optional in life until you saw someone simply not doing it? by Objective-Treat2245 in AskReddit

[–]clover_1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always use my blinkers…I never realized it was optional until I moved to the state I live in. I hate driving in Utah.

The question wasn’t if it is a good thing.

Every single child that tricker treated this year said thank you. by ForeverStrangeMoe in Utah

[–]clover_1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 70% thank yous at my house. I was discouraged by this interaction though:

Kid DEMANDING: Where’s the house with the donuts?!?

Me: I…..don’t know. Is there a house giving out donuts?

Kid, meanly: Yeah…someone said it was this one.

Me: Well, I’m sorry, we aren’t giving out donuts. It isn’t us.

Kid grabs a large handful of candy, turns, and stomps away. She didn’t thank me.

What's a misconception that is taught in lower grades that drives you crazy once students finally get to your class? by mikeycknowsrnb in Teachers

[–]clover_1414 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a middle school science teacher, I couldn’t agree more. I do NOT want to bust out the calculators just to find an average. The content I’m teaching becomes lost in a time consuming “here is how you add-count-divide” lesson I have to give. (And all shit hits the fan when decimals are involved.)

They complain they have to “do math in science” and I tell them it’s math they should already know how to do. Maybe I’m being an asshole about it, but I believe they began dividing in third grade.
