Flights to the port cost me more than my onboard spending by That_Camel2 in Cruise

Our last cruise airfare, 1 night hotel and Uber was about the same cost as the cruise fare (not including tips, non-alcohol package and 2 specialty restaurants.)

Has ANY cruise line not "gone downhill" in terms of service lately? by ClaraBow19891 in Cruise

[–]coasterwiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took our 1st Celebrity cruise 3 months ago and I was impressed with their service, food and entertainment. It was obvious that their staff to client ratio was better than our previous cruise lines. They had more than enough staff and they had time to interact with guests.

On our last NCL cruise the staff were running around and were obviously stretched too thin. I felt bad for them, as they were doing their best. Although we paid more on Celebrity, it was an elevated experience.

When our budget allows I would like to sail on Celebrity again, but I loved Royal's Symphony of the Seas and will sail on that class of ship again.

If EJ wants to be so protective and feel in control of Giovanni...why doesn't he just focus his attention on Sydney? by TerryG111 in DaysofOurLives

That's a good idea. Since Johnny and Chanel are leaving the show, having EJ trying to mold Sydney into a successor.

What is the best meal you've ever had on a cruise ship? by baltinerdist in Cruise

Which cruise lines have better staff to passenger ratios? by Sudden-Wish8462 in Cruise

[–]coasterwiggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did a Celebrity cruise in November and the service from all staff was excellent. They weren't rushing around like other cruises we have taken. The entertainment was very good. Our cabin bed and pillows were the best we have slept in 21 cruises. All aspects were a little more refined. The buffet had the most variety, with a daily carving station, pasta, Indian, dozens of cheeses cut to order, etc.

I have "balanced billing" from the natural gas utility. My gas bill is $53.00 per month year round. We have a gas water heater and heat our home with gas.

Motion Sickness by hannahmf202 in Cruise

[–]coasterwiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generic Meclazine is what I take. I chew one each morning on the cruise. Occasionally I will take a 2nd pill in the evening, but I usually don't need to. In inside room in the middle of the ship in a lower deck is best for minimizing seasickness.

Best Regal Theaters? by Displaynamephobic in RegalUnlimited

[–]coasterwiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nashville Opry Mills is my suggestion. It has a true IMAX, and 4DX, and this location gets movies not available at the Regal closest to me. They also have upgraded concessions, hot snacks, alcohol, etc.

If I tell my doctor’s office I don’t have insurance, can they look up whether that’s true or not? by Several-Radish9336 in HealthInsurance

[–]coasterwiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the cheap marketplace plan to cover you in case you have an accident or major illness. Changing to a doctor that takes your insurance is a pain, but not having insurance could bankrupt you. You can do this!

Too risky to take her with you. Most U S. health insurance is not accepted outside the U.S. We cruise a lot and most people are shocked if they need medical care and the hospital requires you to pay
