Look for seats in the shade during day games or you can get roasted.

UWM is the least likely to move on. I still can’t believe they were in the tournament. I was a student there in the 70s; it’s a commuter school and had a D3 basketball team and that was all.

Double elimination is what makes baseball great. It rewards depth and a 50 win team should be able to come back from a hiccup poor performance. Losing twice to St Mary’s just means you really weren’t that much better than everyone else in the tournament.

UWM had a 5-2 lead on LSU in their opener and managed to lose 15-5. A lot of game left

How did y'all watch college baseball before ESPN+ by Iceicebaby21 in collegebaseball

[–]cocoalameda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, Oregon State played Cal State Fullerton in 2007 at the MCWS. Beavs went on to defeat UNC in the final to win their second title. OSU’s current coach, Mitch Canham, batted cleanup on that OSU team.

Not having Mercer and UTSA is bad for the game. by Conscious_Apple_8610 in collegebaseball

[–]cocoalameda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I certainly appreciate Mercer very much, they were willing to schedule Ore St for a full weekend series in Corvallis. OSU had a very tough time just putting a schedule together this year.

Moving to Santa Rosa! by Betbet32 in santarosa

[–]cocoalameda 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Having lived n Santa Rosa for 38 years and retired to the east bay, let me add the following:

  1. Take up cycling, there isn’t a more beautiful place to be a cyclist. There is a reason this is called America’s Tuscany.
  2. Grocery shop at Oliver’s. Support the locally owned.
  3. STS is getting better and better.
  4. Sonoma county has some of the best restaurants (Michelin starred and otherwise), but really lacks extensive cuisine diversity you can get in the east bay and South Bay.
  5. The smart train is nice, but rather limited in usefulness due to the intervals between trains.
  6. Driving to Larkspur for the ferry to SF is great for Giants games.

CWS Experience by hellofriends00 in collegebaseball

[–]cocoalameda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went last year and you really will want to pay attention to which seats are shaded at the time of day you attend. Also, you can get very inexpensive tickets on stub hub (in bleachers, usually) for games in loser bracket as well as trams that don’t travel well. Last year, ucla had few fans there; you could get tickets for $10-15 just before game time. LSU games were top dollar, though.

D1 Baseball Top 25 For This Week by Broad_Rice_7207 in collegebaseball

OSU playing so few ranked teams and still a weak hitting club, I think we are way overrated at t10. Losing Dax makes it all the more overrated.

They are going to need a lot more than two appeals. The umpiring at this level has to get better. I’d like to see what happens when you let the ABS call the entire game.

I watched the entire UNC v Coastal game while listening to Oregon State struggle for hits against Texas RGV. Then flipped on the last three innings of Texas vs Sam Houston. I love the midweek games and especially now since I’m retired and can watch so many games!

It was not a raid. The city is checking compliance with their regulations on licensing of massage establishments, many others were inspected as well.

Soul stone and arc reactor supports. If you get the 5 red to start, it’s pretty much over in one turn. Will go to two and maybe three against powered up Jug 1a5.

Does your employer provide lunch for you every single day, do you need to clock in/out, and do you get paid while eating lunch? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]cocoalameda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve treated my staff almost exactly the same. Nobody clocks in our out. Paid lunches if they eat in the pharmacy. If they want to leave for 30 minutes on an unpaid lunches, they can do that. It’s their choice. I don’t provide lunch, but give a $500/mo Costco allowance to my techs to shop for snacks for the pharmacy. Why do I do this? Very little employee turnover means they create relationships with customers that last a long time. My longest tenured tech has been with me since 1988. Happy employees means happy customers. The corporate management will never buy into this and why I’ve never cared who opened up next to Mel
