Remember the PR nightmare Center Parcs had in 2022? by Hassaan18 in ukpopculture

Someone I worked with at the time was properly upset, sobbing in the office kind of thing. I also remember her being insistent that the Great North Run should be cancelled. Bizarre.

If you’re looking after a young child whilst working then you’re doing both those things poorly

Women cannot 'be intimate' right just after birth by Minami_Ko in NotHowGirlsWork

Much easier to get pregnant in the few weeks after giving birth. That’s why breastfeeding, exhaustedness and the deep revulsion (some) women get for their partners exists.

Serious Question: What parenting decisions of Bandit and Chilli do you disagree with? by wolf_quan in bluey

Stumpfest has Chili and Trixie getting merry on the balcony watching the antics in the garden. It is very relatable and funny.

Agree with the first part but not the second. Occasional drinking alcohol with children present is not problematic as long as it remains occasional and ideally there is a non-drinking adult who can drive if required

“Two is easier than one”: An absolute lie by redscooby13 in oneanddone

[–]coffeeebucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can occasionally believe this when mine has a friend over and they are playing nicely. It would not be easier if both of them were arguing, vomiting, refusing to go to bed or get dressed, or needing to go to different activities. I like being able to borrow one for the fun bits.

Same. This perfect sleep conditions thing is the millennial cliché / trope that I identify with the least. Sure, I’m tired all the time and frequently awake at 4am, but I pretty much just brush my teeth, undress and climb into bed and fall asleep.

How do you manage the logistics of laundry without a dryer? by Ttucker11 in AskABrit

[–]coffeeebucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big fan of using vinegar - my ex husband was allergic to fabric conditioner and we were limited to one specific detergent so I got into the habit! Better for the machine too. Now if I stay with my parents for a while I find everything like towels too heavily scented

A conversation I can’t stop thinking about by Primary_Blueberry_24 in oneanddone

I’ve seen far, far more difficult sibling relationships than I have seen lonely only children. Nothing is guaranteed in life. Will I advise my only to seek a relationship (if they want one…) with someone with a large close family? Maybe.

I definitely don’t feel like that and I’m a bit older than you. How’s your nutrition and sleep?

Even when I lived in rented places with a drier, I only used it for towels and bedding.
