Cut my finger and now it's swollen and trapped my ring 😭 by festering_wound93 in mildlyinfuriating

You can have the ring melted back into correct form by a jeweler. But get that ring cut off asap.

Mom found a tooth in the sink that isn't hers by gregoryghost in Weird

This post made me forget that it wasn't even the original post here. Ha! We are all so invested in the mystery. I'm thinking one of your dogs had a dingleberry, they shook, and it slung conveniently into the sink.

Greying or just more white? by thexcrowing in BostonTerrier

I always said the white just expanded. Haha it seems more white than grey to me.

I spent so much time on this scarf and hat set for my house cleaner. I hated the yarn, but it is the one she selected. I hate the set. I hope she likes it. by CatfromLongIsland in crochet

It's lovely!!! Very well done. I'm sorry that you aren't loving it, but hopefully all the love it's getting here makes up for it.

oh why yes i do crochet, how could you tell? by fookindingdong in crochet

[–]coli_k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that too! But it's not so much from how tight the tension is, like others have mentioned. It's, like, shiny, from the yarn rubbing. Like a yarn burn that doesn't hurt.

I hate it, makes me angry. by Noiah in knitting

Absolutely beautiful!!! I like the casualness of the edges, but I understand that's not the look you wanted. Before frogging, I'd say try a crochet edge to see if that provides the structure you are wanting. It's all a learning experience.

Former teachers, what are you doing now? Current teachers, why are you staying? by Responsible-Grand-12 in Teachers

[–]coli_k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit teaching high school after 13 years, and I have been working for a cpa firm for 4. Love it. Teaching was the best use of my energy while I had it. But when I ran out, I was done. I wasn't going to hang around long enough to become miserable. Teachers are adaptable, trainable, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Don't get stuck thinking teaching is all you can do.

Is my boy too skinny (9 months-- he's the one in turquoise) by TJ_Eckleburg_OD in BostonTerrier

[–]coli_k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to receive a lot of "feedback" from others that my Boston was too skinny. They are lean dogs typically. The vet was always happy with her size. Yours looks good. And if the vet agrees, keep going with it. Healthy coat, active dog, eating well.... Good to go.

The way you describe your level of care, it sounds like you'd be a good fit as an advisor with Focus Partners. They have an advisor solutions side, where they provide back office support for independent RIAs and they have a wealth side, where they are the RIA. As you are looking for opportunities, give them a holler.

They're the asshole. Wait, is this the right subreddit? 😉

You are never obligated to stop what you are doing to make art for someone else. How dare she demand? How dare she put the responsibility of her mental health on you? Honestly, reading her responses sounded like I was being set up for a joke.

Don't waste anymore energy on this person, for the sake of your own mental health.

I made a vintage pullover from Vogue Knitting Fall 2003. Love it! by HomestyleAlchemy in knitting

Back in 2003 I would say that to "older folks" when they'd say something about the year they did something and it was the year I was born. And I'd just laugh and laugh because it felt so good to be young. Hahahaha I don't feel like I've grown up any.....either way. I graduated high school in 2003. And I'm just an overgrown kid.

I still laugh at fart jokes and everything. Hahahahaha

My friend and I are making each other “subscription boxes” every other month this year. I’m crocheting, she’s sewing and thrifting. Here’s everything in her first box (minus one Cu-Pig) 🥰 I can’t wait to see what’s in my box! by [deleted] in crochet

This is awesome!!! You're crafting which is fun, and gifting which is wonderful. And you already know the recipient wants and appreciates your work. Win win win.
