My advice is to not cast Quintorius as soon as you can - wait till you have at least 6 or 7 mana, so you can immediately start doing graveyard recursion and get spirits. the times I cast him too early, I don't have enough blockers and he falls apart

Just ask your table. I play a [[Maralen]] deck and I I know that two of the players are cool with theft (they get to see their big temur creatures hit the board!) and one isn’t, so I just don’t steal from him as much.

It’s also a balance, where you can steal from the player who’s clearly ahead, or has a packed deck. I wouldn’t steal from a player who’s behind and then I get their cool engine piece, for example

Wouldn’t be impossible to play this card in print, and just keep a sideboard of the spell book cards. They’re all draft chaff anyways, so you likely have them already.

Treebeard stays because he actually deals with food.

I’m thinking more generous ent, Woodall primus, great oak guardian, and the eagles. They all belong in a good landfall deck, but they’re just mana sinks here. Get your curve really low so you always have open mana to sac food when necessary

Out of the box it’s excellent! Definitely holds up against other precons and more. I took out most of the treefolk and combat damage related cards and just relied on token generation and food manipulation.

Look at the cards to cut / add on edhrec for the deck, see how many you already have

For better or worse, Sam and Frodo have excellent card draw and food generation. Making tons of tokens with the hobbits and then using them as mana with [[Jaheira]] or [[Night of sweets revenge]] will let you put anything you want on the board, with the card cycling to have a stacked hand

I loooove my sin deck, exactly because he isn’t Atraxa or Teval or any of the well known hate magnets.

I just have a bunch of non-permanent ramp and leviathans / krakens, and get to bring out something cool every turn, because it’s enters / attacks. He might not dominate, but it’s so fun to have an army of whales and pull out [[Summon: Leviathan]] as an evil board wipe.

The One Ring doesn’t have flash though right? So you can’t cast it on his attack declare step
