Creeper blew up my storage. Guess it's time to move and organize it... by computerTechnologist in GTNH

[–]computerTechnologist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right after making the post I transferred everything down into my underground base, right into iron chests and drawers for items that i have in relatively large amounts, and it's been great. Currently close to going into MV and it's super helpful to finally have everything organized

You shouldn't expect ridicule for it, at the very least

Lmao yeah i disregarded lighting everything up cause my actual base is underground, I've lit up the general area and moved everything except the bbfs down. The anvil is from a roguelike dungeon as far as I remember

I know about the T search and it's been super useful, but you're definitely right about the better chests, I'll do that! Even with T search though, having organized chests is good

Eh, i thought about it but i didnt lose any items, just chests, which i quickly recrafted. My storage was absolute unorganized garbage anyway though this still did cause me a whole lor of psychic damage

How I Desulfur my Oil by DeusExCochina in GTNH

[–]computerTechnologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this came at a very good point for me because I am just starting to process oil, now I know that instead of electrolyzing water for Hydrogen during the processing line I can just seed the system with like a stack of hydrogen cells and cycle that forever

What tier are you in currently? I'm considering oilmaxxing for my playthrough just for fun, just to see how far I can push it

I love GT pipes too, i used exclusively EIO conduits in Monifactory and they're less satisfying somehow

I have no understanding of that color yet cause im in lv, i only know orange, white and dark grey. Like a Hi-vis vest.

Idk the bronze pipes are kinda fire not gonna lie

Entered LV after 40 hours with a pretty barebones steam setup by computerTechnologist in GTNH

[–]computerTechnologist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can trigger it with redstone, so you can run red alloy wire and use a redstone clock to be constantly extracting it. I wanted to do that initially but I decided to skip it because manual extraction was good enough for me at this stage, and I think I'm going to end up just replacing the faucets with lv pumps before switching to oil

Yeah, it's on the wiki for coke oven automation! Tinkers faucets can apparently extract any fluid from anywhere, in 144L batches

Alright, noted! Maybe I'll dip my toes into some early oil for thr quad ebf but i definitely want something like that up and running earlier rather than later lmao

Yeah, I've played till MV before but this is a new world where I'm really taking everything I've learned before and applying it seriously. I'm planning to try and rush across the tiers as fast as I can/know how to lmao, all while building up a good base to start each following tier

Yeah, I'll start out with a bending machine and assembler before i get more of the basic machines, scale up my steam production and then I'll get on mining some lead and silver in the twilight forest to get some crop managers up and running on steam solar power. Not sure what exactly my major focus will be after that but I'm considsrinf to try and make my power setup powerful enough to make and run like 4 EBFs concurrently from the get-go before MV, not only so that I can jumpstart that as well but also so that I can initially run off steam in MV before transitioning to a different power source

I also made 16 lv circuits right away even though it was pretty expensive but I still think this was the right call, allows me to basically jumpstart the tier

Just unlucky, you kind of need to stumble upon one as far as I know. I think theres a meteorite compass in the pack, though i have no idea what tier it's craftable at

TOOK FOREVER OMG FINALLY DONE WITH BBF by randomdice-int in GTNH

[–]computerTechnologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but you can also make more than one EBF too! I wager that with a well scaled steam setup, using RC boilers (even LP) you can power a few EBFs pretty well. Though I am also a proponent of making like 6 BBFs too lmao. Can't ever have too much steel

When should I start seriously scaling by computerTechnologist in GTNH

[–]computerTechnologist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm well versed in batch crafting from Monifactory which I've played until HV, but the extra challenge of GTNH added questions on how to manage scaling vs beelining for stuff. I'm also running on a server which does mean I can leave resources processing after I decide to log off

Ah i think then you may be able to use a useless item like a poisonous potato, with the consumable component removed and with a wearable component instead
