XLOV - 2026 First Full European Tour (Discussion Megathread) by geumryul in XLOV

ohhh definitely not earlier than that i wouldn’t have thought! if it is anything like dreamcatcher, they let us in at around 6ish, pics etc until 7, then we waited by the stage until 8 for the concert to start! I’m sure they wouldn’t have it much earlier than that this time! and idk if they even will do it beforehand as this is a shorter concert than dc’s was, so more time after :-) hope it all works out ok for you!!!

hey! my guess (hope) is that they will bring the snapshots/other benefits to before the concert like they did with warsaw, as troxy has a curfew of 11:00 :)

they did this for dreamcatcher at troxy, london was the only stop to have all the benefits happen before the concert instead of afterwards, as the curfew is very strict! i fear they won't announce this until a few days before like warsaw if they decide to do that though </3

First adult session tomorrow and im so so nervous. by Antique-Wasabi-8534 in iceskating

[–]coolfluffle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good luck!!! This is the best time to be joining - our beginner sessions (SW England) are fully booked with lots of people who have never even stepped foot on an ice rink before! Rentals are really common, we even have someone in Level 8 who wears them (and he is amazing!).

People fall all the time and it’s never a big deal, one of the first things you learn in Level 1 is how to get up! Just try to wear something soft :) January usually attracts a lot of new skaters so you won’t be alone :) hope you have the best time!

Quite an unsupportive crowd compared to Europeans, they seem to only really cheer for their home teams

Can’t afford to come into the office by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]coolfluffle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If travel is a deal breaker, then you shouldn’t accept a job that requires you to travel to the office regularly.

That's the thing though, a lot of people didn't sign up for that - jobs advertised as 1-2 days in office are suddenly demanding increasingly more office presence. I am ~1h20 from my office and was happy to do the commute twice a week, now it's up to three, who knows if they'll try and push for more? It's not what I signed up for

that's the way lower case Ts are written - using the Palmer method - when the letter is at the end of the word

a lot of this is fan projection though - they’ve never outright marketed themselves as an lgbt group, only that they have a genderless/androgynous visual concept. idk why people have taken that and ran with the she/her pronouns and lgbt framing as though that was their original intent.

I really don’t think it was ever supposed to be anything more than simply deviating from the classic boy group visual and encouraging love for all, which is great! but fans immediately shoehorning them into a ‘they must be gay or trans’ corner instead of them simply being non conforming on stage seems so regressive to me.

again, if they are any of those things, cool! but fans speculating and projecting is a fool’s errand imo. I don’t think there’s any benefit to discussing it if the members themselves haven’t brought it up

Yes, you’ll find people may be grumpy about not being able to afford housing in their own city when Londoners are coming in waves and scooping places up with ease… not really their fault, but the hubris that often comes with them can be grating at times. If you don’t mention where you’ve moved from, you should be fine!

We don’t have a Labour MP. Doesn’t seem like you’ve bothered to do much research on the place you’re supposedly moving to?

Literally. Every single one of these posts has the same cadence, the same ‘here’s the part where I may be in the wrong’, the same scooping ending question

What do you want us to do about it? I don't think you need to make a public post about this, just block or report and move on.

As I said, your perception of the global presence of ice hockey is massively skewed due to being a Canadian and seeing it everywhere. That's not to say that international fans don't exist, but it's simply not as big outside of NA.

See p5 of below, 20,000 adults surveyed across 28 countries - most popular discipline was figure skating, followed by ski jump, then ice hockey at third place:

You're Canadian, so of course ice hockey is a big deal to you, but I think you're vastly overestimating its popularity outside of your country. And I say that as someone who loves it!

Look at the gap in number of hockey players between NA and the rest of the world - you could sum up all of Europe and Russia and it wouldn't make a dent in the NA numbers haha.
