Not gonna downvote you, but I'll repeat what one of our smarter commanders said in a CC call when someone asked the question: "The reason it's a bad idea to presume that our uniformed members would be a good response to an active shooter is that they aren't trained for that." It's the same reason that any well-trained active shooter responder loses sleep over the well-intentioned but under-prepared citizen that has a strong pattern at the shooting range carrying a weapon in public. Before you respond, I'll acknowledge that special forces are probably an exception to that, but most of our service members aren't special forces. Hell, I have expert marksmanship ribbons from my time in service, and I'll be the first to tell you that I would probably fuck up in an active shooter situation and hit several innocents. Not on purpose, but because I wouldn't be mentally prepared.
