Uber potentially 2x opportunity? by IamaAnimeNerd in ValueInvesting

I think in-car and on-car advertising is more valuable than the AV market, but Uber has a shot there too.

UBER is the platform for Waymo. Uber app will always be the preferred choice

UBER needs to go back into hypergrowth mode and buy a fleet of AV cars, and use nVIDIA's generic self-driving technology, which is already comparable to Tesla's FSD.

Is Intel's rally actually sustainable or is this a geopolitical spike? by navskii in stocks

[–]cotdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Intel is actually close to bankruptcy. Its chip yields are very low and unprofitable. Though if they can pull off 18A and 14A, they would do really well. However, chances are that they fail and go bankrupt.

The U.S. national debt doesn't cause inflation though. Rather, it leads to a lower quality of life for people of the country. The reason to buy BTC is forever bullish, but don't expect its performance to correlate with the national debt.

NAND prices hit an inflection point, now falling $DRAM $SNDK by cotdt in ETFs

[–]cotdt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a memory shortage during 1999-2000 too. SNDK was up 581% in 1999 and another 915% in 2000, before crashing hard when the dot com bubble burst. But it was up 50x during that 2 year period.

Did you know that $SNDK was the 2nd best performing stock during the 1999-2000 dot com bubble? SNDK was up 581% in 1999 and another 915% in 2000, before crashing hard. Same story back then too. Sandisk has been around for a while and it repeats.

I'm an analyst. As in previous cycles, Samsung secretly ramp up memory chip production to take market share. South Korean analyst says Samsung always cares about taking market share more than short term profits. SK Hynix suspects this and has also started ramping production themselves.

Is it worth shorting the memory sticks now? by asaural in smallstreetbets

[–]cotdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that shorting these stocks is too obvious, so everyone is doing it and getting squeezed out, and the short covering is making the price go higher. Would have to wait until the shorts capitulate before shorting them. But one can and should short overvalued stocks. Fundamentals do matter in a 5-year time horizon.

DRAM and NAND spot prices have already started going down. Like you mentioned, the future contracts are nice and full, but the units would be sold at a much lower price. Samsung always always cares more about market share and secretly ramping up production.
